BACK2BACK2BACK! 🏏

Another sunny day, and another win as we made it 3 wins in a row, coming out victorious against Corse & Staunton 3XI today!

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, we started decently but lost a few wickets before Tom S (43) and Harry W (40) put on a solid 81 run partnership to steady the ship, and AWCC finished on 162-8.

After some great tea from Helen Clarke (as has been the case for all games at the Woodies this year - thanks!!), a great fielding performance from everyone kept CSCC quiet to start. An outstanding bowling performance from Harry S, taking 4-10 from his 8 overs, put us in a strong position, before more wickets from Tom S (2-22), Harry W (1-10) and Adam G (3-15) had CSCC all out for 90 runs!

Another 20 points in the league and another win, Up The Woodies! Thanks to all our sponsors!

Our team to play the touring Leicestershire Teachers CC tomorrow! 🏏

This is their 51st tour of Gloucestershire, and our fixture has been a longstanding part of that tradition full of memories and moments!

The match is starting at 2:30pm at the Woodies, with the bar open from 3pm (and open for the football at 8pm), but feel free to join our team and theirs at The Royal Exchange from 12:00 to give them a good welcome!

BACK 2 BACK WINS! 🏏 - matchday sponsored by Gillett Financial Planning!

Back to back wins for Ashleworth! Following last weeks mega win again QHCC, we followed it up with an even better performance this week at home against Ullenwood Bharat 3XI!

Winning the toss and batting first, AWCC lost an early wicket before Adam G and Pierce R put on 203 for the next wicket, with Adam out on 90. Harry W continued the strong batting with a quick 34, but all the flowers go to Pierce for a superb 128 not out!!

Setting Ullenwood Bharat a target of 306 to win, they started strong, before a cluster of wickets from Charlie B and Harry S brought the game back into our hands, and followed up with great bowling from Henry B and Harry W. Pair the bowling with great fielding from everyone involved, and AWCC won by 34 runs - Up The Woodies!!! 🏏🏏

A superb win for the Woodies yesterday against Quedgeley&Hardwicke 4XI away!

After the hosts elected to field, Tom S (112) and Darren (82) got us off to an excellent start, putting on 200+ runs before losing our first wicket, with Pierce (56) and Harry W (28) coming in to carry on the Woodies to finish our 40 overs on 346-4! Massive congratulations to Tom for his first 💯!

We then put on a brilliant bowling display to bowl QHCC out for 41, with wickets from Marshall (2-4 off 2 overs) and Harry W (2-6 off 3.2 overs), topped off by Adam with bowling figures of 5-6 off 4 overs!

Win number 2!!!! 🥳 - match sponsored by 270 Climbing Park

After being asked to bat by Witcombe 2XI, we scored 133, with a strong 31 from Harry W in the middle and a quick 15 from Marshall towards the end of our innings.

Some quick wickets from the opening bowlers had Witcombe at 2-2, with 3 wickets from Adam and Tom, 2 from Harry W and 1 from Michael D, but outstanding fielding all round restricted Witcombe to 94 all out - particular shout out to Harry M for another 2 catches this week!

Next week sees us play Newent Lions at home once again, Up The Woodies!
