So I started this season after being banned for a year with 2 things in my mind firstly I wanted a PROPER northern 30 and I secondly I wanted a better pb common (old pb 23.07lb) now to my knowledge a northern 30 is few and far between so I started feeding a lot from the word go as most of the bigger fish in my local are high 20s with the odd scraper 30 Davey at 30.02 .
I had a good season catching pretty much every trip and had a cpl of really good sessions 1 of which I had 5 lineras in a row and then came the commons I had a cpl high 20s a few smaller 1s and 1 that made all my targets come true a common known as patch at 31.08 !!! Last out at 28 on the dot so safe to say a PROPER NORTHEN 30 !!! check the postcode ne63 lol

So I started on Tuesday headed to the peg after lunch as it was a very hot day and I knew the fish would just be sitting in the w**d beds until it cooled down that give me time to check and double check the spots were still clear .
I then put 3 rigs out on 3 spots all with 3 spods on each
After a few hours the fish started to move out of the w**d and onto the spots and at 3am the alarm sounded and the left rod was off after a little bit of a run through the w**d a 14lb common crossed the cord so while the fish recovered I put the rig back on the spot
Then after a hour the right hand rod was away the fish came in no problem at all and it was clear why when I seen it in the net every fin on its body was tiny like nemo fins lol put it on the scales and it went 16lb bang on happy days so kettle on and wait for the next
At 5am a pure 1 toner no messing about it was off like a steam train through the w**d back out the w**d back into the w**d but after about 20 min I had it under control and over the cord it went a beautiful old original its scales looked as old as me and at 20.04 it looked class photos done rig back out and try get some sleep but at 10am a specimen roach had other ideas the bite was very much like a bream bite just beep beep then beep beep so I lifted into it and in it came a 1.08lb roach on a 15mm and 12mm snowman rig with a SIZE 4 bargin tackle and dips curve shank it was nailed !! Not what I come for but I'll take that !!!
Unfortunately my local is also used for water sports so at 12 noon on came the boats
Rolling canoes on my spot I reeled in and left them to rest for a while
6pm the rods went back out the same snowman rig on each spot as always if it ain't broke don't fix it kinda thing no liners no fish showing I honestly think the boats had spooked then so I got my head down and at 4am all he'll broke loose a 1 toner rod pod almost pulled onto its side I stumbled out of the bivi and lifted into what felt like a car !
It w**ded me up 3 times in the 40 min fight but I managed to get the upper hand into the water with the net to get it but as all the built up w**d on the line slid down from the tip I was cut off I could see the fish it was defo 1 of the lakes big girls very pale in colour but huge as geordie carp go off it swam shaking my rig out as it swam away I was gutted but that's carp fishing. so knowing the boats were coming back on I started to think about packing up as I did the left hand rod was off agen with a lovely 15.5lb common that will do to finish I said and off home I went until the next time .........

Said it before and I’ll say it agen it’s a esp kinda thing new butt stops rods are solid !!!!!!

Something amazing has happened !!!!!!!!!!Having a great session so far new pb of 42.02 and a lovly 22lb to back it up put a lot of hard work and effort into this and I’ve been rewarded I wanted to join the 30s club this year after only carp fishing for 3 year now but I skipped that club and I’m buzzing with the digits of the pb (420) lol bosh

So the last 48 went well fishing a local park lake first of all I landed a 13lb common (pics not the best as the sun was in the wrong place) then I went on to land STUMPY at 20.08 buzzing 1 of the big commons in here !! Rebait
Then I was rudely woken at 1am by a 11lb common a nice long fish 1 to watch grow
And finally I finished of with 1 of the very few mirrors in the lake 3 SCALE at a very spawned out 16lb
All in all 4 fish 2 named fish HAPPY DAYS
