Why do my hands go numb after 30 minutes of riding?

Hand numbness usually comes down to three key factors:

1. Handlebar position – If your hoods are too low or angled incorrectly, you’ll overload your hands.

2. Weight distribution – Too much pressure through your arms (often from a poor saddle position) can compress nerves and restrict blood flow.

3. Grip & reach – If your bars are too wide or your levers are out of reach, you’ll end up straining and squeezing instead of resting your hands.

The Bike Fitters - Canterbury and East Kent can help by surveying your whole body position whilst riding and ensure your bike fits you perfectly for comfortable riding.
