if you are born South of the river then you are on the 'uppards' team, else you are a 'downards'

i) no conveying of ball by motor vehicle
ii) no attempts to hide the ball
iii) keep out of the churchyard

Well obviously our own little troop will be very disappointed that there will be no traditional Shrovetide football this year but our attendance is just an excuse for a day off and a daft day out.
Our genuine thoughts are with the good people and reliant businesses of Ashbourne for whom the day(s) provide so much more.
Stay safe and hopefully we will see you next year - although of course you have no way of recognising us.

A most unfortunate incident this year due to us carrying highly dangerous inflatable weaponry but as always (or for the last 15+ years anyway) the vast majority of those we met were welcoming.

For those that dip in and out of following such, the "Wolverhampton lot" appeared again this year - yep, scrubs.

Fortunately our Shrove Virgins this year - Tom and Dave2 - are of a size that means finding women's costumes is not as difficult as previous years.
