Nancys held their annual end of season awards night to celebrate the 2025/26 season on Saturday night past in Longnancy's Bar.
The first award of the night was for ‘Signing of the Season’ which was unanimously won by Eddie Mcgurgan for his debut campaign in midfield.
Next up was the ‘Most Improved’ award which was won by Brendy Mc Ardle. After a successful loan spell down under, Brendy has come back and successfully put himself as one of the first names on the team sheet.
After this was the ‘Goal of the Season’ award which was won by Tyler Dynes for his Ronaldo-esque chop inside and low finish to earn a vital point for us in the 3-3 draw with Reclain.
A grand total of 6 goals from Fionnan O Braonain was enough for him to reclaim his ‘Top Scorer’ award ahead of Tyler and Joe.
The ‘Clubman of the Year’ award was jointly retained by Peadar Mc Bride & Odhran Curry due to them not giving back last years trophy.
The ‘Young Player of the Year’ was also a hotly contested award with Charlie Mcgarry being chosen as the recipient of it after his stellar first campaign for Nancys between the sticks.
The penultimate award of the night was the ‘Managers Player of the Year’ which was chosen by our joint managers Barry Mc Mullan and John Mc Ardle. They chose Tyler Dynes as this year’s winner due to his impressive year in attack chipping in with some vital goals along the way.
The final award was the ‘Players Player of the Year’. In a stellar first campaign, Eddie Mc Gurgan was selected as the winner. A constant presence in the middle of the field, Eddie was never afraid to get stuck in and always done a job for the team.
Tokens of Appreciation were then presented to Darren, Cathy, Deonne and Fiona for all their help and support throughout the campaign.
A special work of thanks to Darren and Cathy for allowing us to host the event and to Deonne and Aine for providing post match food for the team throughout the season.
