Match Report- Ross Kerr

The u13 round off their home league campaign with a dominant victory of title chasing Galloway thistle

The young squad left their best performance of the season for their last home match and what a joy it was to watch. From minute one it was one way traffic with the ball rarely leaving the deck as all the training routines came off in one game. Chance after chance fell to Annan but they couldn’t find that killer goal.

Right on half time a worrying incident left young Freddie Hamilton writhing in pain as he clattered the railings from a tackle.

This made the team talk easy and the kids were told to win the game for Freddie. Despite going down 1-0 the play from Annan was relentless and got back in level terms through a penalty. The Annan no1 then produced a wonder save before an equally as good assist set up the prolific Annan centre forward to put us deserved in front. The game was wrapped up when the aforementioned striker spun 25yards out and rifled a strike high into the net.

Coaches could not fault any effort or performance today and it really was outstanding from the 15 player squad.

Moment of the match was after the equaliser when the full team sprinted over to celebrate with the injured Freddie who got to the bench to support his team. Lovely moment. 🖤💛🖤💛

Something just make grassroots football worth it.

A special thanks to all the parents and relatives of the kids for their support at galabank all season. And for my full coaching staff.

On to final game next week away to Lochar
