Tommy's Footprints - Ampthill In WWI 2,235 soldiers trained at the ‘Bedfordshire Training Depot' in Ampthill Park. 707 of the chaps died for King & Country. 2016 is the centenary.

Almost eleven years to the day since I visited The Tower of London to see Paul Cummins' Poppies in the moat, and was inspired to stencil Tommy's Footprints in Ampthill Great Park to mark the WWI Armistice Centenary.

I returned to see the 2025 Poppies that mark 80yrs since the end of WWII.

Ampthill Town Council will be commemorating VE DAY 80 with various events:
Thursday 8th May 11.00am . Proclamation by the Town Crier on the Market Square.

Thursday 8th May 8.30pm. Lighting of the Beacon in Ampthill Park.

Sunday 11th May 2.00pm-4.00pm. 1940's Sing-A-Long with Ampthill Town Band and May Blossom, Vintage Songbird at The Nottingham Performance Area in Ampthill Ampthill Great Park
