I help purpose-led (but often frustrated!) coaches and consultants who are ready to make their businesses profitable using ethical marketing, positve psychology and personality-led science, without compromising who they are or working all hours.

I didn’t start my business because I had a burning desire to become an entrepreneur. 🫣

I started it because I’d been made redundant while pregnant and wanted meaningful work that could bend around my children.

So I built it in the cracks.

Around nursery hours, school runs, sick days, assemblies and the approximately 4,728 snacks small children apparently require every day. 🙃

Flexibility was the dream.

And for that season, it worked beautifully.

But my children are getting older now.

They don’t need me in quite the same way.

And somewhere beneath the peri fog, the confidence wobbles and eight years of making my ambition fit around everybody else, I can feel another version of me starting to stir.

The ambitious one.

The intellectually hungry one.

The ex-corporate go-getter who knows she still has so much more under the bonnet.

A couple of years ago, this stopped being the ‘fun, flexible little business I built around my family’. 🙄

Coaching is my calling.

This is my career.

And I want the next chapter to be the body of work I’m known for.

Perhaps you can feel that shift too.

Your children are that little bit older. You’re finally coming up for air.

And although you’re proud of the business you built during those intense bum-wiping, snack-demand years, you know it isn’t the fullest expression of what you’re capable of.

Not really.

You’ve spent long enough watching other people create the offers, movements, methodologies and opportunities you’ve been secretly dreaming about since you started.

And long enough putting your own ambition at the bottom of the weetabix-encrusted family to-do list.

You’ve spent way long enough dancing around the periphery of your potential.

It’s your time now.

Full Bloom™ is my new six-month, psychometric-led 1:1 coaching experience for established coaches ready to uncover what’s really under the bonnet, define their boldest next chapter and actually bring it to life.

On your terms.

Without sacrificing your health, family or soul to make it happen.

DM me FULL BLOOM if you’re ready to bloody well do this.

Let’s bloody go. 🌸

Any other established coaches suffering from a summer-induced existential crisis? 🤔

I thought it was just me until I emailed my list and had the most replies I’ve had for a long time.

It’s a well-known fact that space and reflection can help squashed emotions and ideas bubble through to the surface.

Lazy days in the sun, hours spent submerged in cold, salty water and lots of lovely lie-ins make for a well-needed reset of mind, body and soul.

Niggles we were too busy to allocate much headspace to amidst the hubbub of term-time busyness become more audible whispers.

🤔 Is this really what I want to be doing for the next 5-10y +?

🌸 Have I been keeping myself smaller than I know I’m capable of being when I’m in full bloom?

🙃 Why do I feel flat when on paper my business is making me half decent money?

🫣 Why does the thought of writing another post make me want to stick a fork in my eye?

When things get out of alignment in your coaching business, it’s easy to ignore the gentle rumble of discontent when things are busy and you’re running from one snack demqnd to the next 😳

But when the noise subsides, you can finally hear yourself think, and feel what you’ve been trying to ignore.

You’re frustrated and you know if you were in full bloom things would be better.

Your impact, income and joy would all bounce back.

I’ve got one more 1:1 spot for psychometric led identity and business coaching in my new 1:1 programme, Full Bloom™️ opening up at the end of September.

Drop me the word EXISTENTIAL via DM or comment below to find out more and apply if it feels like a good fit.

No more settling or sanding down your edges. It’s time to go all in on your wildest coaching business dreams.

Dolly’s quote “Find out who you are & do it on purpose” inspired the name of a group career coaching offer I launched in 2021 by the same name. 🥹

An offer that nobody whatsoever bought. 🫣

And I’ll be forever in her debt for her wise words, cracking melodies and all round awesomeness - and for what would become the biggest evolution of my coaching business to date.

I knew that when I felt bone-deep RELIEF that no one bought that career coaching programme that I was on the brink of something important.

After 4 glorious years of career coaching, in 2021 (after the flop of my ‘Dolly’ programme) I took the decision to kiss goodbye to my career coaching business once and for all and go all-in on helping other coaches start and grow their businesses.

It was by far the scariest pivot of my career - I felt like I was risking everything I’d worked so hard to build since leaving corporate 5 years before.

But in knew in my heart of hearts that I just didn’t believe in helping women scale the corporate ladder anymore.

My profound belief is that for the right women, working for yourself has the power to uncap your personal and professional potential.

And so “The Work Happiness Coach” became “The Happy Startup Coach”. 💖

Still with purpose at its core but this time building coaching businesses around purpose instead of corporate careers.

That’s why the very first piece of work I do with my clients always starts with your WHY.

The big, beautiful reasons behind why you do what you do and the why you want to solve the problems that you do.

Without a purpose-powered highly profitable niche you’ve got yourself another expensive hobby.

So thank you for the quote of your lifetime, Dolly. And for kickstarting what has become a truly purpose-aligned biz journey for me.

What would you change in your own coaching biz if you took head of Dolly’s wise words above?

If a purpose-led profit became your sole guiding principle? 🤔

Comment below I’d love to hear what comes up.

I’ll share my musings below…

RIP Dolly. 💗

I’ve felt a real resistance around creating content for my business this last week. 😳

Which isn’t unusual for me after time away from my biz.

But this time it’s felt different.

A real urge to burn it all down, buy a campervan, go and live by the sea, and teach kids about rock pools for a living.🙃

I have a marine biology degree, so I’d be fine right? 🦀

So in true me-style, I started an existential career/ biz/ work spiral. 🌀

🫣 Maybe I’ve finally fallen out of love with what I do?

🫣 Maybe I’ve not got what it takes any more to show up consistently?

🫣 Maybe I’ll lose followers if I don’t post something soon?

But after a little gentle reflection - and thanks to the awesome s Sweet Talk writing prompts ✨I see now that’s it’s not really my coaching per se that’s been the problem.

It’s actually how I feel about the industry I’ve been operating within for the last 2 decades that’s been slowly eroding my joy. 😕

I trained as a coach over 20 years ago for one reason, pure and simple.

Helping people feel happier and shine brighter in their professional lives. ✨

I even named my business after this sentiment back in 2016, Shine Brighter Consulting Ltd. 🌟

But somewhere between the ICF competencies that suffocate a coach’s creativity to the qualification-less 10k month insta boss babes, the industry feels like it’s lost its soul.

So this is my end-of-Summer declaration to bring more soul back into my work and these squares. ☀️

More real chats about what it’s really like to grow a coaching biz in 2026.

More nature.

More connection.

More unfinished thoughts.

More of ME.

Because somewhere along the way what I really think and feel has been crowded out by what I’m supposed to think it takes to grow a happy, profitable coaching business. 🫣

Consider this your gentle invitation to join me in reclaiming the way YOU want to grow your coaching biz, fill these squares and do more of the work you actually started for. 🌟

Entry #2 of The Stretch Diaries - The Problem Tree 🌳

Following on from my first entry of this BTS peep into what really goes on when you evolve your coaching nice (see the linked reel)…

This week’s reflection (I took a week off due to Devon-related off grid bliss!) is all about that gradual awareness that you’re still known for the problems you helped your clients solve 2, 3 even 4 years ago. 🫣

Your reputation hasn’t quite caught up with your expertise and mastery.

Meanwhile during your actual coaching conversations, your clients are achieving way more expansive transformations and going way deeper with you.

These solid gold transformations are worth double what you’ve priced your current offer.

You’re effectively sitting on a goldmine since your basic level messaging and positioning blocks premium, more advanced clients from recognising you as the coach for them.

As you start to build comfort in creating more nuanced, advanced content - the right buyers will start to see you as the expert and authority you’ve become.

Try it. Share more trunk and roots depth insights in your content and see who comes out of the woodwork. 👀

I’d love to hear any leaves vs roots conversations examples you’ve had with clients recently.

No more dumbing down your depth. No more keeping it simple just to stay accessible. You aren’t for everyone anymore. 😉

I’ve noticed a really interesting shift over the last 5 years of helping coaches grow their businesses.

Back in 2021, when I was working with new coaches just starting out, I’d hear:

“I need more clients.”

In effect, I was helping them solve the problem of client acquisition.

5 years on, I work with more established coaches and were actually looking to approach client acquisition a completely different way:

✨ Do you actually need more clients?

✨ Or do you need to charge differently?

✨ Are you selling the wrong thing?

✨ Have you outgrown the clients you’re attracting?

✨ Is your positioning underselling your expertise?

✨ Is your business model forcing you to need too many clients?

✨ Are you creating from your strengths or from stress / survival?

✨ Are you avoiding becoming known for the deeper work you’re actually capable of?

✨ Is your problem really lead generation - or has your reputation failed to catch up with your coaching mastery and expertise?

If you’re an established coach you may also have noticed that the problems you’re solving for your own clients have become more nuanced and valuable over the years.

But is your positioning, marketing and business model reflecting the depth and value of the transformations you now help clients achieve?

If you’ve been earning more or less the same for the last 18 months, the answer is probably no. 🫣
