New client today who had purchased a 2nd hand dressage saddle and wanted the fit checking. Fortunately the tree angles worked well for the horse, but the panels had been very over flocked , causing them to become sausage shaped and minimising contact area on the horse’s back. 1st pic shows the difference after I had removed flock and levelled 1 side, and the 2nd pic is of the amount of flock removed from both sides on completion. This highlights the importance of getting purchases of 2nd hand saddles checked 🙏@

Fascinating day yesterday playing with the exciting soon to be launched new saddle from Bates Saddles.
Great feedback from riders and horses, this horse particularly showed how he felt…. Same fence, same stride, same point over the fence, one pic is in his own saddle, one is in the new saddle!!
Thanks LRAC for use of the arena, and to the riders for your time and feedback .
I had the opportunity to ride my young horse in the saddle… she was a little overwhelmed by the activity around the arena, but I have to say I have never felt more secure 🎉
