Around 12 months ago, our Learn to Swim team supported the CBeebies show I Can Do It, You Can Do It Too with technical guidance to ensure the swimming content was accurate and consistent with the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework.

It’s fantastic to see the show now live and reaching so many young swimmers and their families. 🌊💦

Water safety success for schools! 🎉

We’re thrilled to share that the Water Safety Code is now part of the Department for Education’s Relationships, S*x and Health Education (RSHE) statutory guidance for schools in England! 🌊

This major step means students in primary and secondary schools will now receive vital education on how to stay safe around water.

Ahead of World Drowning Prevention Day (25 July), Minister Catherine McKinnell MP met with key organisations including Swim England, Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK, RNLI, and the Canal & River Trust to champion this life-saving initiative. Knowing how to float can save your life. On , we encourage you to Find Your Float!
💦 If you find yourself in trouble in the water, remain calm and *Find Your Float* by lying on your back and calling for help.
💦 If someone else falls in, throw them something that floats instead of jumping in after them.
💦 Ensure your family knows how to float to stay safe in, on, or around water.
If you're unsure how to float, swimming pools and swim schools around the country are teaching floating techniques in their swimming lessons in support of and RLSS UK's and Swim England's 'Find Your Float' campaign. Contact your local pool today to and enjoy water safely, free from drowning.

With the end of the school term and indeed another academic year in sight, all of us at WaVe7s Swim School and Albrighton & District Swimming Club would like to take the opportunity to celebrate our Swim Stars!

Our magical little pool is open to the public for the whole of the school summer holidays - every day except Fridays - from 19 July!

Alongside the public swim sessions at Albrighton Swimming Pool, we have a programme of swim lessons, Rookie Lifeguard training and much more!

We're lucky in Albrighton to have so many opportunities to - please remember the Water Safety Code this summer!

All spaces have been allocated for this week's after-school sessions and confirmation emails have been sent.

A key learning outcome for swimming lessons is for children to be able to talk about how to behave in and around water and how to help in an emergency.

All of us at WaVe7s Swim School and Albrighton & District Swimming Club are committed to ensuring everyone can and have delivered water safety sessions to hundreds of children and young people this year!
