This is probably one of the most important posts we’ll share from Studio 22. ❤️

We talk a lot about strength, movement and confidence, but sometimes what someone needs first is simply somewhere they feel comfortable enough to walk through the door.

Mat explains beautifully why that matters to us, and why Studio 22 was always intended to be more than just somewhere to train. 💪🏻

Alongside coaching my clients, this is what I’ve been up to this summer… 🏆

Most of you who train with me will have already seen these medals and trophies appearing in Studio 22 one by one, but I realised I haven’t actually stopped to acknowledge what they represent.

So excuse the essay but I think it’s time I fixed that.

This summer I’ve competed across three natural bodybuilding shows, bringing home class wins, an overall title, a two British Finals invitations and, most recently, two second places at an international open, standing alongside a World Champion and now new pro-athlete.

And I’m really proud of that.

I came into this season with years of training behind me and a physique already built, but the majority of this prep has happened right here in Studio 22. The same space where I ask my clients to lift a little heavier, try something they weren’t sure they could do, and discover just how strong and capable they actually are.

I don’t coach bodybuilders. That isn’t what Studio 22 is about.

But I do coach strength, movement and confidence. And I know that part of what brings some people through our door is seeing a woman in her 40s continuing to set herself big goals, get stronger and find out what her body is capable of.

Not everyone who trains wants to lose weight. Not everyone needs to. Sometimes the goal is simply to get stronger. To have something to work towards. To challenge what you thought you were capable of. Or perhaps to see someone else doing something and think, maybe I could do more too.

I spend a lot of my time celebrating the achievements of the wonderful people I get to coach, and I’m not naturally very good at shouting about my own.

But these medals and trophies represent a huge amount of hard work, consistency and commitment, alongside running Studio 22 and having the privilege of helping so many of you work towards your own goals.

Three shows down. Seven weeks to bring the best version of me to the British Finals. 🏆

Yesterday gave us another opportunity to assess the physique, see how I responded to a different approach and come away knowing exactly what we need to do next.

And that is something I talk about with my own clients all the time. Progress isn’t about everything going perfectly or winning every time. It’s about being able to look objectively at where you are, take the feedback, make the adjustments and keep moving forward.

There is still work to do, and seven weeks is plenty of time to do it. I know what it takes to get there. Challenge accepted. 💪🏻🔥

July and August have been busy both in and out of the studio, so I thought I would drop a quick update here on my page.

Outside of Studio 22, I have dug out my bikinis and heels for a new bodybuilding season. 👙

I’m one show (and one win🏆) in already and today I’m stepping on stage again for the next competition as well as again in two weeks time before taking a little break and coming back for more shows later in the year.

A huge thank you has to go to all of my clients. You’ve been with me through the many months of prep alongside coaching you, seen the energy levels change and listened to me talk about bodybuilding probably more than you ever expected to 😂 Your encouragement and support has meant a lot.

After that, it’s time for a very different kind of week because we’re heading away on holiday ☀️ and yes, we chose our destination based on the gym we could use for the week. 💪🏻

Studio 22 will therefore be taking a little break too, and any new enquiries or messages that come in over the next week will be answered when I return. ✉️

Then it’s back to our normal routine of training and coaching in the Studio for the rest of the month and into September

I have just posted it in our local towns Facebook group with an update for July. Yes July!

Half the year has gone… but half is still to come.

So here’s a question…

*What could your health, fitness and confidence look like by the end of the year if you started today? *💭

It always amazes me how quickly we get to this point of the year, and every year I hear people say things like…

“I’ll start after the summer.”
“I’ll wait until the kids are back at school.”
“I’ll do it when life calms down.”

But what if you didn’t?

📆Six months is long enough to build real strength, move with more confidence, have more energy ⚡ and create habits that genuinely last. It isn’t about being perfect. It’s about giving yourself the chance to feel better by Christmas than you do today. ✨

At Studio 22 I work with people from all walks of life. Some are training for events, others are recovering from injury, and some feel they’ve lost themselves to motherhood or menopause and want a little help finding themselves again.

But most simply want to feel stronger, move better and have more confidence in their bodies.

And honestly, every one of those goals matters. 🙌🏻

Studio 22 was never built to be an intimidating gym environment. It’s a calm, focused coaching space where people can learn properly, train properly and work towards goals that actually matter to them. 🤍

I currently have a few personal training spaces available and will continue to coach throughout the summer. ☀️

If you’ve been thinking, “I’ll start one day,” maybe make today be the day you book to come and see the space and have a chat.

🚗 And you don’t have to worry about where to park either, we’ve got space right outside, so every part of your visit is as easy and stress free as possible.

If you’d like to know more, just drop me a message or visit LivFit.uk.

👋🏻Hi, I’m Liv.

If you’re new here, I thought it was time I properly introduced myself.

Over the last few months you’ve seen a lot of Studio 22 on this page.
>The equipment.
>The coaching.
>The new dumbbells.
>The occasional chaos caused by Mat 😂

But behind all of that is me.

I’m a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sports Massage Therapist, and I help people build strength, confidence and trust in their bodies.

🩼 Some of my clients come to me after injury and need support rebuilding strength safely.

💪🏻Some want to feel stronger and more capable in everyday life.

💉Some are navigating weight loss with GLP-1 medications and want to protect their muscle, mobility and long term health while they do it.

Most aren’t athletes.

They’re busy people juggling work, family, injuries, confidence, changing (and age-ing) bodies and all the other demands that come with real life.

The thing I love most about coaching isn’t the equipment, the programmes or the progress trackers (Although I love a good spreadsheet 📈)

It’s hearing things from my clients like:

🤍 “I feel stronger than I have in years.”

🤍 “I never thought I’d be able to do that.”

🤍 “I feel confident enough to continue on my own.”

Those moments matter.

Because strength isn’t just about lifting weights. It’s about building confidence that carries over into the rest of your life. And Studio 22 is where that happens 🙌🏻

The goal was never to build a gym. The goal was to build a place where people feel comfortable enough to start and supported enough to progress.

Three months in, we’ve coached clients in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, helped people return from injury, having babies, build confidence in the gym and achieve things they genuinely didn’t think they could do.

And honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how it’s going 🤍

If you’re new here, I’d love to know a little about you. Tell me what brought you to the page 👇

One thing Mat is really good at as a coach is meeting people where they are.

Whether that’s someone returning after injury, somebody completely new to the gym, a teenager building confidence, or someone wanting to keep strong and capable as they get older, he adjusts the coaching to the person in front of him.

No ego. No copy and paste programmes. Just good coaching, real conversations, and helping people move forward safely and confidently 💪🏻

I think these photos sum that up perfectly 🤍
