Chesham 2-3 Abingdon

A winning start on the road.

Abingdon travelled to Chesham for the opening game of the season, with a full squad ready to get the campaign underway at Chiltern Academy.

Despite the heat on the 3G, the team started brightly and looked sharp in the opening 45. Good possession, strong movement and a number of chances created saw Abingdon take control of the game, with Sasha getting the goal her performance deserved.

Chesham came out strongly after the break and enjoyed a spell of pressure, controlling large periods of the second half and moving the ball well.

Abingdon, however, showed good character to weather the pressure and hit back when it mattered. Petal added a second before Sasha grabbed her brace to put the result beyond doubt.

A strong opening-day performance and a positive result on the road. Plenty to build on.

Seven new signings. Seven exciting additions. 💛💙

We’re delighted to welcome seven talented new players to the squad. Each brings their own qualities, character and strengths, and we can’t wait to see them in action this season.

✨ Oliwia Stankowska
A technically gifted and intelligent player who brings composure, focus and a strong understanding of the game. We’re really excited to see Oliwia develop with us. Previously with Easington Sport.

💫 Imogen Hunt
A versatile and creative player who combines technical ability with a top work ethic. Imogen brings energy, determination and a willingness to contribute across the pitch. Currently at Procision Academy and Barton U18s.

🔥 Precious Kujore
A very talented player with an excellent reading of the game and an impressive work rate. Precious brings energy, intensity and the ability to create magic in the final third. Previously with Oxford City Devs.

🧤 Anna Clayson-Ward
A quality goalkeeper with excellent handling, confidence and a fantastic attitude. Anna provides a calm and reliable presence between the posts, and we’re delighted to have her with us. Previously with Oxford City Devs.

🌟 Petal Phillips
A technically strong and intelligent player with excellent movement and a real appetite to improve. Petal’s work ethic and team-first mentality make her a great addition, and she has a very exciting future ahead. A Procision player from the JPL U18 girls league.

⚡ Violet Phillips
A dynamic player with excellent technical ability and a positive approach to the game. Violet has the confidence to demand the ball and the ability to influence matches. Another exciting Procision addition who we’re looking forward to seeing thrive.

🕊️ Raveen Purba
A quick and energetic player who combines intelligent movement with a strong work rate. Raveen has an excellent ability to find space, move the ball effectively and contribute positively to the team.

A great example of our player pathway in action, taking on new challenges, developing their game and growing in confidence.

Quality delivery and a great finish. Always gives everything and continues to grow in confidence.

A hardworking defender with plenty of energy and determination. Always willing to get forward and can pop up with a goal too.

Quick, left footed and dynamic. Growing in confidence and showing she can make an impact at the next level.

⭐️ Lucy
A top goalkeeper with excellent shot stopping ability. Rumour has it she’s a quality defender too!

Heads down, hard work ahead.

With last season's experience in the Southern Region Women's League under our belts, we're quietly getting to work for 26/27. Pleased to have a solid group staying on to build foundations and add more depth:

Charlotte: Strong team player who reads the striker well and gives us stability at the back.

Lilly: Back fit and working hard, always a danger up top to add options in the final third.

Frida: Strong, quick, and puts in a proper shift at the back to strengthen our defensive options.

Amelie: Reads the game well and brings quality all over the pitch, giving us great tactical flexibility.

Sasha: Fast grafter up front who adds energy and loves to chip in with goals

Ellie: Clever movement and a decent finish, bringing crucial competition in the box.

Yas: Strong in the middle, gives it everything right to the last minute,
and a top player all round.

Pre-season starts this week
