APPOINTMENT | Abingdon United FC are delighted to welcome Paul Lynch to the club as our new Commercial Manager.

Paul joins the club at an important and exciting stage in our development and will take responsibility for growing our commercial operation. Building relationships with local businesses, developing new partnerships and sponsorship opportunities, generating additional commercial income and supporting future club events.

Speaking about his appointment, Paul said:

“After meeting with Stefan and Adam and hearing their vision and ambitions for the club, it was clear there is a real sense of direction and an exciting opportunity to build something positive for the future.

“I’m proud to be joining Abingdon United and I’m looking forward to developing strong relationships with businesses, partners and the wider community while helping the club continue to grow both on and off the pitch.”

On the appointment Vice Chairman Stefan Caira added:

“I’m absolutely delighted Paul has agreed to join the club at such an important time in our history. Having got to known Paul over the last couple of years, I believe we are completely aligned in what Abingdon United needs to be successful.

“His background and track record in local business and local sport will be a massive asset to the club. Paul will play an important role in creating new commercial opportunities, income generation, developing club events and will also join our 3G committee.

Paul’s appointment represents another positive step as we continue building for the future at Abingdon United”

🚨⚽️ Abingdon United FC – Player Information Evening ⚽️🚨

Abingdon United would like to invite ambitious young players and their families to attend our Player Information Evening, where we'll be sharing our exciting vision for the future of the club.

We're embarking on an exciting restructure designed to create an environment where the very best young talent from across the county can develop, compete and thrive. Our goal is to build a clear player pathway and a culture that supports long-term success, both on and off the pitch.

We're an ambitious club looking for like-minded players who share our drive, commitment and desire to be part of something special.

Over the next 12 months, our focus will be on strengthening the club's infrastructure, developing key partnerships and creating the best possible environment for our players ahead of the next phase of our journey.

Although we won't be operating a Development Squad this season, our Under-18s will be aiming to retain their Allied Counties League title.

During this transitional year, our First Team will also continue to work closely with our partner clubs, using dual registration where appropriate to ensure talented players continue to receive valuable opportunities to play and develop.

If you're a player who wants to be part of an ambitious project with a clear vision for the future, we'd love to meet you.

We’re excited to launch our brand-new Under 6s mixed football team!

If your child will be starting Year 1 this September, this is the perfect opportunity to develop skills, make new friends, and have lots of fun in a welcoming team environment.

🏆 Last of our new club awards…

⚽ The Molly Lygo Top Goalscorer Award goes to Macey Culkeen.

There was only one person this award could be named after. Molly Lygo is an Abingdon legend. Always amongst the goals, our First Team’s top scorer this season, and someone who’s played for the badge since day one. She leaves everything out on the pitch every time she pulls on the shirt and is a player no defender wants to come up against.

This year’s winner is deservedly Macey Culkeen, who’s had a frightening season in front of goal, banging in 33 goals across the league and cup. An outstanding all-round player, but this year she’s taken her goalscoring to another level. As she steps up from U15s to U16s, the future’s looking really bright.

That’s the last of our new club awards. We introduced these to recognise the brilliant players across our women’s and girls’ section and celebrate what we’re building together. We’re incredibly proud of every player, coach and volunteer who’s helped make this season another special one.
