In person you can find me in Abergavenny and the surrounding area providing weekly yoga classes and monthly self care days and events. Watch this space for online services coming soon! At Simply Self Care we believe that at our core we are all doing our best…. but if we feel good, are more resilient, more energised, our best becomes a whole lot better!

These are three yoga poses I come back to most mornings.

They take just a few minutes, but they have become a simple way for me to start the day by moving my body and checking in with how I feel.

And sometimes, that is all you need to get started.

You don’t need a perfect routine. Start with a few minutes.

Then, when that starts to feel good, add a little more.

And if you’re looking to reset your yoga practice then come join our 7 Day Yoga Challenge.

🍂I always notice a shift in myself when September arrives.🍂

The mornings feel a little different, routines begin to take shape again and I find myself wanting to come back to the things that make me feel good.

So I’ve created a little **7 day Autumn Reset** to help you do just that.

From Monday 14 September, we’ll work through the body from the feet up, with a different focus each day.

✨ 7 days
✨ 30 to 50 minute practices
✨ A different focus each day
✨ Follow along with the community or move at your own pace

The practices are designed to **enhance your day, not add another demand to it**, making it easier to create a yoga routine that works around real life.

Mind & Body
Feet
Hips
Core
Spine
Shoulders
Full Body

A little time to move, breathe and reconnect as we move into autumn.

**Fall into Place; 7 Day Yoga Challenge** starts Monday 14 September.**

I’d love to have you join me.

One of the things I’m trying to reset this September is my mornings.

Now the kids are heading back to school, I’m getting back into the habit of waking up earlier so I have a little more time before the morning rush begins.

Because when I’m rushing, everyone is rushing.

There are more meltdowns, more shouting and a much higher chance of me becoming the “shouty mum” before 8am!

That extra bit of time in the morning makes such a difference to how the whole day feels.

Trying to do it all can feel overwhelming and completely unachievable. So rather than adding more to your list, try looking at what is already taking your energy.

🧡Make two lists:

Things that drain me
Things that make me feel good

Then ask yourself where you could do a little less of the first and a little more of the second.

It doesn't have to be a huge life overhaul. Sometimes a small change to your routine can create much more space for the things that make you feel good.

My September reset isn't about doing more.

It's about creating rhythms that support me.

What could you change in your routine this month to make life feel a little easier?

September is the ✨perfect✨ time to reset your yoga practice.

Consistency doesn’t have to mean doing more.

Often, it is simply about making something easier to return to.

If you want to make yoga part of your routine this autumn, think about what would actually work for your life.

✨ Choose a day and time you can realistically commit to.

✨ Make it easy. Have your mat ready, book your class in advance, or choose a short practice you can do at home.

✨ Start with one or two practices a week rather than setting yourself an unrealistic goal.

✨ Let your routine be flexible. Missing a practice doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Just come back to it the next time you can.

The aim isn’t to create the perfect yoga routine.

It is to create a rhythm that supports you, and one that you can keep coming back to.

Because the real benefit of yoga isn’t what happens when you practise once.

It is what begins to change when you practise regularly.

Save this reel and take 5 minutes to think; 💭 What would make it easier for you to stay consistent with your practice this autumn?

I have my usual weekly classes running throughout September, plus a 7 Day Yoga Challenge to help you get moving again.

🍂September always feels like a natural reset to me.

Not the flashy “new year resolutions ” kind of reset.

Something quieter.

The return to school. Cooler mornings. Familiar routines. The first signs of autumn appearing in the hedgerows.

It feels like a good time to pause and ask:

🧡What is actually supporting me at the moment?

🧡And what could I make a little more space for?

You don’t need to overhaul your life. Sometimes a few small changes can make a real difference to how we feel.

A yoga class each week.
A walk outside.
Going to bed a little earlier.
Making time for breakfast.
Ten minutes without your phone.

So this September, rather than asking yourself what you should be doing more of, try asking:

**If I could design my ideal September timetable, what would I make more time for?**

Save this post and come back to it when you have five quiet minutes.

And if yoga is something you’d like to return to this month, I have classes in Abergavenny and Llanddewi Rhydderch, plus a 7 Day Yoga Challenge beginning this month and a growing library of practices available online.

🍂 AUTUMN EQUINOX RETREAT 🍂

With the sudden shift in the weather, it feels like the perfect time to share our next seasonal gathering.

I’ve been looking back through the images from last year’s Autumn Equinox and it has got me so excited to gather again. What started as a one off has quickly become a lovely tradition, creating a little space in our busy lives to pause at the turning of each season.

As nature begins to slow, soften and let go, we are invited to do the same.

This morning is a chance to step out of the busyness of everyday life and into the beautiful surroundings of Dragon’s Gate. To move, breathe, swim, warm up, eat, reflect and simply be.

We’ll begin with grounding yoga and meditation before heading into the water for a wild swim and time in the lakeside sauna. Afterwards, we’ll gather over delicious refreshments and have space to pause and connect.

For me, these seasonal retreats are about more than the activities themselves. They are a chance to notice where we are, acknowledge what has passed and create a little space for what comes next.

A gentle reminder that we don’t always have to keep moving forward. Sometimes we need to pause, root down and listen to our own inner compass.

A morning to pause, soften and welcome the light back in 🌿

What a joyous way to celebrate the changing of seasons.

There is so much beauty in coming together to move, breathe, create and reconnect. It was a gentle reminder that this season is one of renewal, hope and new beginnings.

Thank you for being part of it ✨
