Sheds Thistle welcomed Huntly in what was comfortably the biggest game in Sheddocksley Thistle history… and the lads absolutely turned up. 👏

The game started with Huntly taking the lead after a scuffed free kick took more deflections than a game of pinball before somehow sneaking past Travis. 0-1. Jammy.

Heads didn’t drop though. The boys responded with some prime Barcelona-esque tiki taka football… if Barca played on a cow field.

The equaliser came after Muffers (Pirlo) whipped in an absolute peach of a corner which Jordan Baillie met with a header so powerful it nearly took the bar home with it. Off the bar and in. 1-1. Limbs.

The attack kept cooking and after some lovely football, Sheds won a free kick on the edge of the box. Up stepped Keith with what can only be described as a thunderbolt pea roller. Thankfully the Huntly keeper had clearly buttered his gloves before kick-off because he spilled it straight to Noah, who reacted quickest to tuck it away. 2-1 Sheds at halftime.

Second half started with Huntly players still trying to find El Capitano (Kyle), who had them chasing shadows all game.

Then came the third. Keith slipped Noah through after Noah had spent the previous 5 minutes warning the sidelines he desperately needed a poo. Thankfully he didn’t s**t the bed in front of goal and calmly slotted home for 3-1. Straight off to the toilet son, job done. 🚽⚽

Baillie was then through on goal and got wiped out about 25 yards from goal. Free kick to Sheds. Up stepped Keith again, the Messi of the sheds pitches, and rifled one into the net after it bounced approximately six times on the way in. 4-1 Sheds.

Massive game. Massive performance. The lads were superb from first whistle to last. Travis spent most of the game in goal smoking ci**rs with absolutely hee haw to do. 🚬

This result piles the pressure onto Huntly, who now need two wins from two for the playoff spot. The pressure is very much ON 👍🏼

There were genuinely 11 men of the match today, but the award goes to Jordan Baillie for his foul winning and thunder-bastard header.

Hazlehead Park played host to what was advertised as a football match between Sheds Thistle and West End… but quickly turned into a mixture of prime Barcelona, Sunday League chaos, and an audition for UFC.

Sheds came flying out the traps and grabbed the opener through Cammy, who produced what can only be described as a scuff finish. A scuffed right-foot cross/shot/pass-to-nowhere somehow looped over the keeper and dropped in at the back post. 1-0 Sheds.

The rest of the first half was full of tackles and chances. Sheds created chances but finishing boots were far from present. West End meanwhile offered about as much attacking threat as a traffic cone.

Half time: 1-0 Sheds.

The second half started with chance after chance being missed for the first 15 minutes.

Then Jordan Baillie finally remembered where the goal was. The ball dropped to him 8 yards out on a plate and he buried it with the calmness of a man ordering a pint. 2-0.

That goal opened the floodgates. Captain Kyle stepped up next after Jordan was absolutely cleaned out in the box by a shocking challenge. Penalty given, Kyle slotted it away. 3-0.

Then Owen Baxter decided he was actually Roberto Carlos for the afternoon. After a series of bulldozing runs that had defenders needing a sat nav to find him, he pounced on a loose ball from a corner and rifled it home. 4-0.

Young Colesy then claimed the fifth after West End attempted some experimental defending involving zero communication, flying limbs and pure panic. Nobody really knows who touched it, but Cole celebrated like he’d scored a World Cup winner, so we’ll stick his name on it. 5-0.

Another shocking challenge, another penalty. Travis marched up for a penalty desperate to show off the tekkers and fair play to him — top bins. Absolutely no saving that. Rumours are he’s now demanding penalty duties as well. 6-0.

As the game drifted towards full time, things got a bit tasty. One solid tackle in midfield led to a West End player launching an elbow at Lennox. Lennox reacted, the West End player hit the deck like a sack ‘o’ tatties and chaos erupted.

Another West End player then came steaming in from behind and bottled Lennox, leaving him with a nasty gash, cowardly and uncalled for.

To be fair to the Sheds boys, players tried to walk away while two West End lads continued charging about like extras from Braveheart. Eventually the referee had calmed things down, and sent two West End players off for the following shenanigans.

Final score: 6-0 Sheds.
Three points, six goals, one wrestling match, and safely back up the road 👍🏼
