💬 Quick-Fire Questions to Claire
1. How long have you been training at The Hub?
14 months consistently.
2. What motivated you to start?
I was struggling with painful tendinitis in my left arm and a lot of pain in my right arm following a neck injury. I felt my overall strength slipping away and I knew that if I didn’t take charge of my health, things would only get worse.
I used to run and I really wanted to reconnect with that stronger version of myself.
3. What’s been your proudest moment so far?
There have been lots of personal wins along the way — like finally having the strength and mobility in my arms to hang from the bar — but the biggest one has to be moving house recently and being strong enough to lift heavy items with ease and without injury.
4. Do you have a goal or challenge you’re working toward?
Last year I was a spectator at Hyrox Nice and watched in awe as competitors stormed through the stations looking so strong. This year, now that I’m finally pain-free, I’ve signed up — with my daughter — for a ladies’ HYROX team event. I’m not quite ready yet, but my attitude is: if I make it to the start line, I’ve already won.
5. One piece of advice for anyone just starting out?
Anyone who’s decided to start is already a winner — just for making the choice to change. Don’t focus on what you can’t do; focus on being stronger than you were last week, and celebrate every bit of progress.
6. Favourite motivational quote or saying? 🌟
“You can do anything when you believe you can!”
