I thought the hardest part of my ultra trail would be the climbs.
It wasn’t.
The hardest part came afterwards: When I knew I could not finish what I wanted to. When I knew that the heat had beaten me. When I knew that all the school boy errors cost me dearly.
…..The conversation in my own head.
One minute I felt proud.
The next, disappointed.
Then grateful.
Then frustrated.
I found myself wanting to justify my performance… analysing every decision… questioning whether I’d done enough.
Sound familiar?
Whether it’s a race, your health, your career or simply trying to become a better version of yourself, our biggest challenge is rarely physical.
It’s the story we tell ourselves afterwards.
At The Wellness Lounge with Goody we talk a lot about physical health.
But mental wellness is just as important.
Learning to celebrate progress without demanding first place .
Learning from setbacks without letting them define us.
Learning that success and disappointment can exist at the same time.
That’s real wellness. And whilst you are predisposed by your environment and upbringing to accept certain limits, responses habits - You are its master.
❤️ Have you ever achieved something and still felt it wasn’t enough?
