20 yrs ago it was decided to install the 4 paddle wheel aerators on the lake as a back up for all sorts of problems that nature can throw at a fishery from low oxygen, algae of all kinds low water level, acid rain pressure fluctuations from thunderstorms. Last year l decided to go one step further and install
(Bubblers) as l call them to the areas that were not getting much water movement when paddles were on. After seeing what has happened this year with the intense heat and lack of rain it looks like the best move ever. I know of fisheries that have lost fish on an unprecedented scale yet others lose hardly any. Nature can be cruel, although fishing has been good at times and patchy at others. Putting the aerators on in the early hours when air temperatures are at there coolest has enabled us to cool water temperatures down by a couple of degrees
This may not sound like much but to the fish it is life saving

** catch report 18th - 25th July **
This week we welcomed just the 1 angler on for his first trip with us. He opted for the lawn swim to start with. His first bite came on the tuesday which ended with a hookpull. He contemplated a move but hadnt seen anything happening down the other end so stuck to his spots and decided to stay put. Then from Thursday morning untill Friday evening it kicked into gear for him and he had another 9 bites landing 6. His weights for the week were all mirrors of 24, 31, 32, 33, 36 and 43 (new pb for him). All fish falling to essential IB hookbaits over essential cell. Well done Ben and see you next time!
