Last but certainly not least our final shoutout is Chaylee Martin! A few words from Coach Jamie Francis and junior Ella Glover.
Coach Jamie: “After this year, I would like to retire the “comeback of the year” award, but Chaylee is certainly a deserving final recipient. Somehow, she persevered with a smile on her face and her typical sunny disposition.”

Ella: “Chalyee and I have rowed together since high school. After completing a challenging first week of rowing, she decided to come back the following week and stick with it. Chaylee is the sweetest, funniest, and most supportive teammate you could ask for. She is resilient and comes back stronger when faced with a challenge, whether that be having no knuckles and learning to row or having hip surgery and getting back in a boat a year later. It has been amazing having her as a teammate the past 7 years. Thank you Chaylee for being you and for bringing positivity to practice everyday. We love you and we can’t wait to see what incredible things you do after Stetson.“

Next up for our shoutouts is Maia Starrwalker! Here are a few words from Coach Jamie Francis and juniors Maria and Sienna
Coach Jamie: “Maia is the reason I’ve invested in human cloning. Need proof? Who else buys furniture sliders to put under their medical boot so she can continue to train on the erg (with one leg) and then PR on her next 2k test?”

Maria + Sienna: “Maia, you are such a lovely, funny, and positive person, and you make the team such a joyful place to be. Your determination and motivation for yourself and for all of us are so inspiring, and you’re always our biggest supporter. Talking to you always makes our day, whether it’s for advice or just to laugh and take our minds off things.

We’re all so grateful for DJ Maia, jamming out to your elite playlist before regattas always gets us so pumped. You somehow always match our energy, which usually ends with our cheeks hurting from smiling so much. You push us further than we ever thought we were capable of and help us believe we can do it, even when we’re telling you that we can’t.

Honestly, we all just want to be you, Maia. You’re so adventurous and always up for anything, and the team truly wouldn’t be the same without you.”

Next up for shoutouts is Savannah Clarke! Here are a few words from Coach Jamie Francis and junior Emily Haynes

Coach Jamie: “Savannah holds the distinction of being the first Stetson commit for me. She’s probably also one of the most silly, chaotic, funny, dietary-restricted, loyal, charismatic women on the team. She and I have shared some hard moments that brought me to tears and some hilarious moments that have done the same. This is probably where I should wish Savannah luck, but I’m going to send all those wishes to Chris instead.”

Emily: “Savannah is the hardest working goofball you’ll ever meet. She puts her heart into everything she does. She will always find a way to make you laugh and will be there when you need a shoulder to cry on. Never count her out because she always comes back fighting. She is leaving behind some big shoes to fill!”

Our next senior shoutout is Dalia Emara! Here are a few words from Coach Jamie Francis and freshman Alicia Longo
Coach Jamie: “I’m not sure I can say more about Dalia than has already been said…in her full-page article on GoHatters.com. Except maybe one thing…March 11, 2026.”

Alicia: “Dalia is one of those people who makes everything better just by being around. She’s absolutely hilarious, insanely dedicated, and somehow always making new friends wherever she goes. She’s the kind of teammate who’s not only super easy to be around, but also the kind of friend you’re really lucky to have on your side. Whether it’s putting in the work at practice or staying disciplined outside of it, she always shows up ready to give it her all. She also takes recovery very seriously, so chances are if you see Dalia after practice she’s either making a yogurt bowl or going to take an ice bath. Safe to say the team wouldn’t be the same without her.”

Staring off our senior shoutouts is Captain Gillian Dodge! Here are a few words from Coach Jamie Francis and sophomore Kara Hubbard.
Coach Jamie: “Gillian is probably the one person on this team that has grown the most in the time that I’ve known her. She arrived a quirky, anxious girl and has blossomed into a slightly less quirky, assured woman. I hope that when she leaves Stetson she’ll be able to look back and see how far she’s come and remember that she’s capable of doing hard things ”

Kara: “What will I do when you’re gone. No hair will be braided. No yerbs left around the house. I can’t express how grateful I am to have you in my life, I can’t imagine what things will be like when you are gone. The day you told us you would be our roomate I don’t think I’ve ever jumped so high with joy before. I’ve never met anyone with such dedication and passion for this sport like you do. You have made a wonderful teammate, captain, and friend throughout your time here at Stetson. If I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more.”
