A little late, but still well worth celebrating!

While we're a little behind in sharing this, we still wanted to acknowledge and celebrate Fiji's participation in the 2026 World Kids' Athletics Day Celebrations, held on 8 May 2026.

Under the theme "Celebration & Unity", Athletics Fiji delivered three Kids' Athletics programs across the country — two in Suva and one in Nadi — bringing together over 300 students in a fun-filled day of movement, learning, teamwork, and athletics.

World Kids' Athletics Day is an annual global initiative dedicated to encouraging children and young people to be active, develop fundamental movement skills, and experience the joy of athletics in an inclusive and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to all the schools, teachers, volunteers, coaches, parents, and partners who helped make these celebrations possible. Most importantly, thank you to the hundreds of young participants whose enthusiasm and energy truly embodied the spirit of Celebration & Unity.

ATHLETICS FIJI CONGRATULATES BRIEANNA RABAKEWA

Following her impressive outing at the 2026 Oceania Athletics Championships.......Athletics Fiji would like to and proudly congratulate Brieanna Rabakewa (SVC & Nadi Athletics Club) on signing a 2-year athletics scholarship with Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, USA! 🇺🇸

Brieanna will be pursuing an Associate Degree in Engineering while continuing to develop her talents in the Discus Throw, where she currently holds an impressive World Athletics recognized Personal Best of 45.61m. However she has thrown further at this year's Coke Games with an impressive 46.88m.

This achievement is a testament to her hard work, dedication, discipline and perseverance — as well as the unwavering support from her family, coaches and community. A special acknowledgement goes out to her supportive parents, whose sacrifices, encouragement and belief in Brieanna have played a huge role in this exciting milestone.

Coffeyville Community College is well known for its strong throws program and is the same college attended by Fiji’s very own Mustafa Fall, who broke and reset the Fiji Men’s Shot Put National Record multiple times during his career. This presents an incredible opportunity for Brieanna to continue growing and excelling at the next level.

Your Athletics Fiji family is incredibly proud of you, Brieanna. We wish you all the very best as you begin this exciting new chapter both academically and athletically. Continue to fly the Fiji flag high and inspire the next generation of athletes.
