Huge congratulations to our three Barracuda swimmers โ€” Moroni Hill, Ethan Aisake, and Mahaylia Matanisokula โ€” who are proudly representing Fiji at the 2026 Division II Swimming Competition in Dunedin, New Zealand.

A special shoutout to Moroni Hill, who had an outstanding start yesterday , securing two silver medals in the 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Our other swimmers also performed exceptionally well, achieving personal bests in their events. Both Moroni Hill and Ethan Aisake were part of the relay team that clinched gold in the 4x50m freestyle โ€” a fantastic team effort on the international stage ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฌ

This month, we recognize Vivita Loloma Recoko Bai as our featured swimmer. Vivita, who turns 19 on 3 July, is among our most senior active competitor. She began swimming competitively at seven years old and has demonstrated consistent excellence throughout her swimming career.

Vivita completed her primary education at Nadi Airport School and later graduated from Maharishi High School, where she served as Head Prefect in 2025. Her achievements include representing Fiji at the Junior Pan Pacific Competition in 2021 (Hawaii, USA) the 2023 Pacific Games (Solomon Islands), and the 2025 Mini Games (Palau), and several Australiaโ€“Pacific competitions. She has also earned local swimming scholarships in recognition of her talent and commitment.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Vivita symbolizes discipline, leadership, and integrity. She has recently commenced her studies at UNIFIJI under the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter to study medicine.

In this moment of recognition, Vivita would also like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to the Rova Family, especially her coach Rosemary Rova for moulding her into the athlete and young woman she is today. Their guidance, support, and belief in her have played a defining role in her journey.

Sara Simone Marseu, she is 9 years old and a Year 4 student at Mount St Maryโ€™s Primary School, Nadi. Sara began her swimming journey in 2024 through private Learn to Swim lessons with Rosemarie Rova (Junior). Recognising her potential, Rosemarie recommended Sara to join the Barracudas Swim Club. Sara officially joined Barracuda in January, 2025 and has since actively participated in both National Schools and Club competitions, showing enthusiasm and steady progress in the sport.

Apart from swimming Sara enjoys drawing, making jewellery, listening to music, and socialising with friends. She is a creative and energetic young swimmer who aspires to become either an artist or a swim instructorโ€”just like Miss Rose ๐Ÿ˜…

Joonhee Hwang is a Korean national currently residing in Fiji. He joined the Club in January 2024 and is a Year 7 student at Agape Mission School in Nadi. Joonhee is passionate about swimming and diligently attends all training sessions and competitions. He has proudly represented his school for two consecutive years, with 2026 marking his third year of representation.

Beyond swimming, Joonhee enjoys drawing and aspires to become a doctor in the future. We wish Joonhee all the very best for this yearโ€™s competitions and continued success.

Neriah Nakaora is a student at Agape Mission School Fiji, located in Nadi. She was born on 18 April 2015. She joined Barracuda Swim Club Nadi on 25 January 2025 and has since demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment as a swimmer. Throughout the year, she consistently attended and competed in all swim competitions, including proudly representing her school at the National Schools Swimming Competition. Neriah is a gifted and disciplined athlete who shows great potential both in and out of the pool. She aspires to pursue a future career as a Pathologist, reflecting her strong academic interests.
