Long acknowledgement post ahead β
Our 2025 season has come to a close today as we bowed out in the semifinals against the Wardens. It may not be the ending we prayed and dreamed for, but this journey has been one of sacrifice, unity, love, and pride β a journey that will forever remain in the heart of Batiri Rugby.
First and foremost, all glory, honor, and thanks be to the Almighty God ππ½. Through every battle, every injury, every victory, and every defeat β it was His hand that carried us. When the boys stumbled, His love lifted them. His protection shielded us on and off the field, and His light guided every step of this season.
Ki na Lotu Valenilotu o Moraia kei ira na kenai Vavakoso β vinaka vakalevu for being our spiritual anchor. For the prayers whispered before each game, for speaking life and faith into the boys, for opening your hearts, homes, and the church hall during fundraisings and gatherings. You reminded us that rugby is not only about winning on the field, but about glorifying God through humility, discipline, unity, and respect.
To the Vanua o Batiri, vua na Taukei Batiri Amena Levidiri, and every family and resident β you are the heartbeat of this team. Your blessings, your endless love, your sacrifices big and smallβ¦ they carried us more than you will ever know. You stood with us in the heat, the rain, and the long journeys. You reminded us that Batiri is not just a place β it is a family.
To our players β words will never be enough. You trained under the burning sun, pushed through heavy rains, and gave everything you had on that field. You sacrificed time with family, comfort, and energy, but carried the pride of Batiri in every tackle, every sprint, every drop of sweat, and every bruise. You wore the jersey not just for yourselves, but for your brothers, your families, and your village. You are warriors, and you have made us proud.
To our coaches and management β vinaka vakalevu for your tireless dedication. For being the steady voice when the boys were weary, for shaping them with discipline and vision, for giving your own time and families so this team could stand tall. You are the guiding hands and hearts that held this journey together.
To the families of our players β thank you for your endless sacrifices. For sharing your sons, brothers, fathers, and uncles with this team. For your patience, your meals, your quiet prayers, and your encouragement. The hidden strength of Batiri Rugby lies in you.
To our loyal supporters near and far β vinaka vakalevu. Whether you cheered from the sidelines or sent your love and encouragement from a distance, you gave the boys strength and reminded them that they were never walking this journey alone.
To our water boys β our unsung heroes. You ran tirelessly every game, always ready when the boys needed you. Your dedication may be quiet, but it is deeply seen, felt, and appreciated.
And above all, to our brother Misieli, whom we lost during this season π β you may no longer stand with us on the field, but your spirit never left our side. Every time the boys laced up their boots, every time they carried the jersey, you were there. Your memory gave us strength, and your name will forever live on in Batiri Rugby. This season, we played for you as much as for ourselves, and we will continue to honor you in every step forward.
Boys, this is not the end. This is only the beginning of something greater. The 2026 season awaits, and we will rise stronger, wiser, and hungrier. Every setback is a setup for an even greater comeback.
Our 2025 season has come to an end β and now we look forward with hope, faith, and determination to 2026. The best days of Batiri Rugby are still to come. ππ
This one was for you, Misieli. Always in our hearts, always part of Batiri Rugby. ποΈπ
