What a great day at Villamartin .. some great scores even though we had the wind to contend with.

38 of us went to El Valle on Friday 3rd Nov and it was such as cold start a few of us had to have a coffee and brandy to get us going. Great course in good condition and although tough very enjoyable.
Unfortunately between the committee we lost the results sheet and nobody knows where so I am listing the winners as I can find on the system so if you were a winner and not mentioned I apologise.
The nearest the pins I have were Martin Buzzeo x2 and he also had two x 2's so that was a great, there were 3 x 2's but the other is not listed and they got 25euros each.
The second division was as follows, 4th place Alan Hill with 30points, 3rd place Mick Clarke 31points. 2nd place Trish Blades 32points and winner of 2nd division was Dave Cockings with 33points.
The 1st div was in 4th place Trevor Scammell with 32points, 3rd place Paul Bradley 34poiints, 2nd place Darrel Rose 34points c/b and winner of Div 1 was Martin Buzzeo with 36points.
Congratulations to all winners and the next game is at RODA on 17th Nov.

A great day yesterday 20th Oct 2023 at Altoreal where the course was in excellent condition and great value for money enjoyed by all. The scores seem to show that it was tough but thoroughly enjoyable. Due to us missing out on a couple of free places in April we managed to get 4 free places today and with 35players we managed to pay down to 5th place in both divisions and also had two ladies prizes as there were 6 ladies playing. Onto the prizes, the 4 x nearest the pins sponsored by the Wee Rock Bar were hole 5 Barry Mitchell, Hole 8 Ben Chadwick, Hole 10 Dave Lethaby and Hole 17 Paul Bradley. There were also 2x 2's With Graeme Clarke and Ben Chadwick sharing the 70euro's. The Ladies prizes were in 2nd losing on c/b with 31points Trish Blades, 1st place went to Michelle Little with the same 31points. The second div was as follows, 5th Keith Langton 27points, 4th Pete Hudson 30points, 3rd John Griffiths 30points, 2nd Gordy Brindley 31points and 1st place Mick Clarke 32points.
The 1st div was 5th Graeme Clarke 32points, 4th Ben Chadwick 32points, 3rd Barry Mitchell 32points, 2nd David Lawrence 33points and the 1st place went to Keith Burns with 34points. Well done to all attendees and especially to the 14 different prize winners.

A fine days golf was held at Roda on Friday 11th August 2023. There were 29 players with 26members and 3 guests. Unfortunately there were 2 x late pull outs and we had to pay for them which meant the prize fund was reduced. We are attempting to recover these costs and until we do the players will not be allowed to play in our society and we will let other society's know of this debt.
On to the good stuff, there was only a single two today and this was won by Bob Dixon who won the tidy sum of 58euros. The nearest the pins were won by hole2 Chris Tuohy, hole7 Bob Dixon, hole11 Lance Hardy, hole 13 Mike Lanchester. These were kindly sponsored by the team at the Wee Rock. The best guest was won by Steve Bradley with 34points. Div 2 winners were 3rd place Aiden Dixon 38 points, 2nd place Bob Dixon 40points and winners of div2 was Lance Hardy 41pionts. Div1 was 3rd place Andy Shaw 34points, 2nd place Mike Lanchester 35points and winner was Dan Price with 36points. Well done to all winners and a big thank you to Gordy, Mick, Tammie and Andy for ensuring this runs smoothly every game.

Well another great day at one of the finest courses, Lo Romero on Friday 28th July 2023 and 33 players attended to enjoy what is a special course in great condition. The 4 x nearest the pins were won by hole 5 Dan Price, hole 7 Keith Burns, hole12 Wayne Houson, hole 15, Richard Allen, Thank you to our sponsors The Wee Rock for supporting the nearest the pin prizes. There was only the 1 two which was won by Lasse Hadland, always nice when there is only one winner a great payout. The best guest was won by Mike Woodray with 26points. On to the members and in Div2 our winners were in 3rd place Gordy Brindley 35points, 2nd place Sandy Coutts 37points and 1st place was Chris Tuohy with 40points. Onto Div 1 and 3rd place was Paddy Winterbourne 33points losing on countback to 2nd place Lasse Hadland 33 points, 1st place was Keith Burns with 35points. Well done to all of the winners and a big Thank you to the organizers Mick, Tammie, Gordy and Andy. Next game is 11th August at Roda so get your name down if not already.

A great day at Villamartin on 14th July 2023 attended by 48 players which included Bryan Robson (ex Man Utd and England Captain) and we all hope he had a good day with us. There were 3 x 2's on the day on hole 6 by Graeme Clarke and Chris Udell and hole 13 John Given. The nearest the pins sponsored by the Wee Rock Bar were hole 6 Graeme Clarke, hole 9 Keith Burns, hole 13 John Given and hole 17 Bryan Robson. The 2nd div prizes went to 5th Troy Norris 35, 4th Sandy Coutts 36 c/b, 3rd John Fletcher 36, 2nd John Halliday 38, 1st place John Sampson 43. the 1st div was 5th Phil Sully 33, 4th Graeme Clarke 39 c/b, 3rd Rob Davies 39 c/b, 2nd Barry Mitchell 39 and 1st John Given 42points. Congratulations to all winners and a special thank you to Gordy, Mick, Tammy and Andy for ensuring a great day was had by all.

Have any of you entered a Kieran Whitfield to play on Friday .. he is not a member and we do not know who he is a guest of.

Please message if you know who he is or we may have to delete him from this fixture as we have no contact details for him .

We did have a couple of people who did not turn up at Alenda without informing us and whilst it was not too much of a problem on that day, we feel that there is no excuse for not informing us as everyone has access to phones and email. Anyone not informing us in future may be excluded from further events.
