WELCOME BY DAVE BLACK
The Club 25 captain welcomed all 3 societies to La Torre and set the context for the evening presentation.
In memory of members from the three societies, Dave read out the names of those who passed, with additional words for Sean Glynn and Ronnie Roser who passed more recently.
Dave thanked our ongoing sponsors and those who specifically supported this event.
BALLS IN THE VASE
Well this created quite a bit of interest. Guesses ranged from 21 to over 200!
Folks examined the vase from all angles ... all to no avail! Nobody got the number correct; therefore, the vase goes to the nearest guess.
The exact number was 54 and we had 2 folks either side one away. Fergal Cleary with 53 and Kevin Millward with 55. Fergal won the draw.

BEST GROSS
Presented by Pauline Carolan.
This year we had a greater % of single digit handicappers than ever before and for the first time we recognised the lowest gross score.
It was competitive with Ian Walker (72) and Andy Arrol (73) pipped at the post with a 71.
Winner - Amy Gay 71.
Trophy accepted on her behalf by the LTGS captain Keith Forrest.
TEAM LINE PRIZE

Format was the best 2 Stableford scores per hole. It was tough for those teeing off later with strong winds developing throughout the day.
We had 27 teams competing. In the few cases where a player couldn't make it .. we applied a random ghost score.
Scores range from 74 upwards, with 8 teams higher than 85 points BUT only 2 exceeding 90.

1ST PLACE - 93 Points - Andy Arrol, Gary McAlpine, Lee Street, Colin Archer
SINGLES STABLEFORD

Yet again another competitive category...
106 players
60 players had 30 points or more
22 players at 36 points or more
6 players at 38 or more - threshold for prizes.
Given the windy conditions.. super scoring. Results:

Thanked everyone for supporting the event.
Echoed Dave Black's thoughts on those who have passed, adding additional warm words for his friend Ronnie Roser.
Three societies played and as you would expect no quarter was given. As communicated the top 8 scores from each society were added together to give a cumulative total.
It was close. In 2024 there was 3 points between 1st and 2nd .. pretty much the same this time!!
Results are:
2nd - La Torre Golf Society : 299 points
1st - Winner - CLUB 25 : 303 points
Malcolm presented the trophy to Dave Black.
