Bau de Cap Trencat is one of the hidden gems of the Parc Natural del Cap de Creus. This spectacular rocky reef rises from the seabed and is covered with colorful gorgonians, sponges, and a rich variety of Mediterranean marine life.
It is not dived as frequently as many of the area's other sites because it lies directly in the "Sunseeker Alley" - the busy route used by leisure boats heading to Cala Montjoi. As a result, diving here is usually only possible early in the morning or outside the peak season. However, those who visit are rewarded with dramatic underwater scenery, excellent fish life, and a sense of exploration.
One of its most charming features is a small mermaid statue, placed there by divers over 20 years ago, now beautifully encrusted with marine growth and blending perfectly into the reef. On this dive, a scorpionfish had chosen the perfect spot, resting right in front of the statue and creating a truly magical scene.
