If I had to choose one midfielder for Barcelona, I’d go for Kees Smit.
I still remember Ronald Koeman saying he’s the player who reminds him the most of Pedri, and I genuinely trust Koeman’s eye for talent.
Smit has everything Barça look for in a midfielder: outstanding vision, composure under pressure, progressive passing, tactical intelligence, and the ability to dictate the tempo of a game. He’s technically gifted, works hard off the ball, and despite his young age, plays with remarkable maturity.
On top of that, he’s already said publicly that he’d love to join Barcelona. For me, he’d be a signing with huge upside and a profile that fits perfectly into Barça’s style of play.
