Meet Race Officials! 👇

We are proud and glad to announce that the ORC Europeans Klaipėda 2026 will have a highly international and deeply experienced Race Committee team. Let’s begin with the most important Race Office positions:

ECKART REINKE 🇩🇪 | Eckart Reinke will be the Principal Race Officer (PRO) for the ORC European Championship Klaipėda 2026. He has a substantial experience in leading ORC championships, as he was the Principal Race Officer during ORC Worlds 2021 in Tallinn, 2023 in Kiel, also ORC Europeans 2024 in Mariehamn. Besides having been PRO at the ORC title events, he is a major figure at the offshore races in Germany such as Kiel Week, MaiOR and others.

MADIS AUSMAN 🇪🇪 | Madis Ausman will be our Race Officer (RO), the second-hand for the PRO. He has been a sailor since 1982, IRO since 2010. He has served as RO for several ORC title events in Estonia and Finland. He has also been a GoRR race officer since the beginning of it – for 10 years. M. Ausman has RO experience in Klaipėda, as he was a RO during the “Curonian Lagoon Regatta” in 2022.

ARI PELTOMÄKI 🇫🇮 | Ari Peltomäki will be a scorer during the ORC Europeans in Klaipėda. He is an experienced sailing officer with extensive international regatta expertise, including multiple ORC World and European Championships as scorer and organising committee member across Finland and Estonia. Organises and scores yearly the national Finnish and Estonian ORC Championships and numerous class events, managing over 10 regattas annually. Certified National Race Officer and board member of the Finnish Offshore Association. Skilled in advanced race management technologies, including MarkSetBot robotic buoys, with a proven track record of delivering accurate results and high-quality event organisation.

After four days of challenging offshore racing on the North Sea, the ⛵️👥 2026 ORC Double-Handed World Champions have been crowned in Scheveningen 🇳🇱

🌊 Teams faced tactical conditions, unfamiliar currents for many, changing breeze angles and overnight navigation challenges on courses stretching between the Dutch and British coasts.

⛵🏁 After two days of tactical offshore racing on the North Sea, all teams have now finished the championship’s main challenge - the 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 🌊.

🔵 In ORC Class A (230.44 NM), 🇳🇱 𝗫-𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗠 (XR 41) with Robin Verhoef / John van der Starre secured victory on corrected time after 34 hrs and 45 minutes of sailing, doubling their wins from both races of the event.

🟠 ORC Class B (216.77 NM) saw 🇳🇱 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗞 (JPK 10.30) with Diederik Forma / Martjin Graafmans take both line honours (34:03:46) and the corrected-time win after a strong offshore performance. JETPACK was also the team that won both the Short and Long Offshore Races.

🟢 In ORC Class C (192.59 NM), 🇳🇱 𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗘 (Standfast 43) with Henk Zomer / Michiel Prins claimed the class victory. Several teams received standard 10% penalties for entering obstruction zones during the race, including early Class C leaders 🇸🇪 𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗨𝗦 (Corby 25) and 🇱🇹 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗝𝗔 (Platu 25), which affected the final standings.

✅ The top 3 teams are undergoing the regular post-race inspection today, after which the new ORC DH World Champions can be declared. The official award and prize-giving ceremony will be held on Monday, May 25.
