CONGRATULATIONS! ⚾️
The Boston Red Sox made history by hiring Bianca Smith as a Minor League coach, making her the first Black woman to coach in professional baseball. Bianca, 29, is an assistant coach and hitting coordinator at Carroll University in Wisconsin.
She has also worked at Case Western University and the University of Dallas. Bianca played softball at Dartmouth College and has interned with the Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds. She’s overjoyed about this new opportunity, saying she’s still processing it. Bianca’s milestone is a big step forward for women and black coaches in professional sports! Let's spread the good news! 🏟️
