Spinner dolphins in the Red Sea gather in large pods near the Satayeh and Samadai reefs in Marsa Alam. Samadai is actually the third-largest gathering site for spinner dolphins in the world, after Hawaii and Brazil. These areas serve as resting grounds during the daytime, where dolphins spend their hours socializing and relaxing in shallow waters no deeper than four meters. At night, they venture out into deeper waters to hunt and feed.

🍽️ Diet
Spinner dolphins are classified as apex predators in the marine ecosystem. Their primary diet consists of small fish, squid, and other small marine organisms. Their presence in any area is a strong indicator of a balanced food chain and a thriving marine ecosystem.
🤰 Mating & Calving
· Mating Season: Male dolphins begin courting females, and families from surrounding areas gather at these resting sites for mating.
· Gestation Period: The gestation period lasts approximately 11 to 12 months.

Thutmose I: Father of Hatshepsut and Builder of the Egyptian Empire

Thutmose I was one of the greatest rulers of Egypt's Eighteenth Dynasty and reigned during the early New Kingdom in the 16th century BC. He is best known as the father of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most famous female pharaohs in history, and as a powerful military leader who helped transform Egypt into a vast empire.

During his reign, Thutmose I led successful military campaigns against the Kingdom of Kush in Nubia, located largely within modern-day Sudan. He suppressed local rebellions and advanced Egyptian forces beyond the Fourth Cataract of the Nile, an extraordinary achievement for the period. His victories secured Egypt's control over valuable gold mines and important trade routes, greatly increasing the kingdom's wealth and influence.

His military success was not limited to the south. Thutmose I also expanded Egyptian power into the Levant, helping establish Egypt as one of the dominant powers of the ancient world.

After his death, Thutmose I was originally buried in the Valley of the Kings. Centuries later, priests of the Twenty-First Dynasty moved his mummy to the famous Deir el-Bahari Royal Cache near Luxor to protect it from tomb robbers. The cache was discovered in 1881 and contained the mummies of several of Egypt's greatest pharaohs.

The mummy attributed to Thutmose I is currently displayed in the Royal Mummies Hall at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo. However, scholars continue to debate whether the mummy truly belongs to Thutmose I or to another individual from the same period.

Today, Thutmose I remains remembered as one of ancient Egypt's most successful warrior kings and as the father of Hatshepsut, the remarkable queen who would continue his legacy and become one of Egypt's most celebrated rulers.
