Ever wondered what actually happens behind a ship finance deal?

Together with Sparebanken Møre and Schjødt, we’re kicking off a new YoungShip season by taking you behind the scenes of ship finance - from both a financial and legal perspective.

🏦 Marlen Emblem, Financial Advisor in the Maritime Department at Sparebanken Møre, will give us an insight into the bank’s role in financing vessels.

⚖️ Jørn Snorre Øvstedal, Lawyer at Schjødt, will take us through the legal side, drawing on his expertise in financing vessels, shipyards and companies within the seafood and maritime industries.

Ship finance is a crucial part of the maritime industry, but one many rarely get to see up close. This is your chance to discover what happens behind the deal, how the different parties work together - and a side of shipping that might surprise you.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a YoungShip kickoff without good food, new connections and familiar faces! 🥂

This week, we had the opportunity to attend ShipCon 2026 in Copenhagen, hosted by YoungShip Denmark !🚢🌟

Over three days, we joined young professionals from across the maritime industry for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and valuable networking. It was inspiring to hear different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping our industry, while building connections with peers from around the world🌍

A big thank you to YoungShip Denmark for organizing such a great event. The combination of engaging speakers, interactive sessions, and a highly motivated group of participants made ShipCon 2026 both educational and memorable.

And also a thank you to Youngship for making initiatives like this possible and for supporting platforms that bring young professionals in the maritime industry together💫

We return home with new insights, fresh perspectives, and many valuable connections that we look forward to staying in touch with in the years ahead!

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of visiting Tyrholm & Farstad AS at Flatholmen in Ålesund!🚢☀️

We gained valuable insight into how a modern logistics company operates in practice, and learned more about their wide range of services within transport, shipping, and supply chain management. The highlight of the visit was getting a guided tour of their new facility – truly impressive to see how everything comes together in real life🙌🏼
