🇦🇺 In the month of August, coach Ömer made his way to San Diego, California 🇺🇸 to prepare for World Master 2025 at the home base of ⚔️
Coach Ömer trained hard and remained disciplined in his preparation, and it showed!
He secured bronze 🥉in the super stacked M1/Brown/Featherweight division, winning his first 3 matches in dominating style via submission! Unfortunately he lost the semi-finals to the #1 seed via 1 advantage (very controversial if you ask us 🤔🫣).
During his time in the US, Coach Ömer trained with many amazing, high level athletes. We are very grateful to all those who played a role in training, supporting and mentoring our coach for his first World Championship 🌎

3 of our competitors travelled to Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱 to compete at the Amateur World Championship.
dominated her opponent, winning by points and securing 🥇 in the 65kg/Adult/Advanced division!mma fought hard but ultimately got caught and lost her finals match, nonetheless she secured 🥈 in the 55kg/Adult/Advanced division._bjn went 1-1 in the most stacked juveniles division, losing to a blue belt by points in the quarterfinals.

Over the past few days our team mates travelled to Rome 🇮🇹 to participate in the European NoGi Jiujitsu Championship! The boys walked away with some wins and our team gained a new European Champion 🏆😻
On day 2 of the Championship, Kilian stepped onto the mats and went 5-0 (with no points scored against him) all the way to the top of the podium! He is now a European Champion in M1/Blue/lightweight 🏆
On day 3 coach Ömer went 1-1, winning his first match via submission and unfortunately getting disqualified in the qualifiers due to technical decision
On the final day, Kevin went 2-1, winning his first 2 matches but unfortunately getting knocked out in the qualifiers due to a ref's decision
We are so incredibly proud of our team mates for going to Rome and killing it, gladiator style 😉

Last week we sent 2 athletes to Las Vegas, Nevada 🇺🇸 to compete at the 2025 NoGi World Championship 🌎🏆 and they both made it onto that podium! One returns to us as a WORLD CHAMPION!
On the first day of the Championship, Mireille .mma had a strong run in her division (M1/Purple/Feather), going 2-1 with all submission finishes. Unfortunately getting knocked out in the semi finals via 1 questionable advantage. Nonetheless she secured 🥉 and is a Worlds medallist! 💜
Day 2 of the Championship was Coach Ömer's time to shine. He had 4 matches in his division (M1/Brown/Feather), finishing 2 with submission and 2 by points, Ömer climbed all the way to the top of the podium and became a World Champion!! 🥇🤎
Both athletes had a total of 9 matches (Mireille 5, Ömer 4) and won 7 of those matches! 🤯
We are so unbelievably proud of our teammates, they had the guts to go to the biggest IBJJF NoGi competition in the world and gave it their all! 🔥

🇦🇺 Presenting Ömer Simsek, head coach, and the face of ⚔️Atos⚔️ Mannheim. Ömer has been training Jiujitsu for approximately 13 years and started his Jiujitsu journey at SDS in Mannheim.

He moved to Atos in 2019 to train with Professor Sebastian Heuser (). He is currently a brown belt under Professors Sebastian Heuser and Andre Galvão.

In 2016, Ömer went to Rio 🇧🇷 and trained under Rico Viera for team Checkmat, alongside big brazilian names such as Fernando Tereré and Cantagallo.

While he loves NoGi, he prefers Gi - favourite submission being the papercut ✂️. He prefers passing and being the top player (his guard game is ridiculously good). His favourite thing about being a coach is progressing the team and being responsible for his students.

What are some of his goals? To win Brasilieros, Worlds and Europeans in both Gi and NoGi 🌎🥇. What makes Atos so special and different from other teams in the region and Germany? "Disciplined, hard workers, we support one another. We are a team. We welcome guests. Everyone is welcome! We happily train with everyone and we learn from each other.“

Few random facts about our fearless leader: he is a Leo ♌️, his favourite colour is green 🟢, and his favourite drink is Spezi 🥤, he is an animal lover 🦙🦘 and his favourite people come from Australia 🇦🇺 and Chile 🇨🇱 .
