We are members of 886th KMC Fire Emergency Service. Our goal/intent is to represent the USAF, our supporters, and our department with the highest standards of professionalism, commitment, fitness and mental toughness/readiness. The Scott Combat Firefighter Challenge, named for its official sponsor, Scott Health & Safety, encourages firefighter fitness and demonstrates the rigors of the job as comp
etitor’s race against each other and the clock. Firefighters are decked out in full bunker gear including a Scott® brand breathing apparatus as teams of two race head-to-head performing a linked series of tasks that include climbing a 5-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses and rescuing a life-sized, 175 lb. dummy victim. The Challenge is considered the “Toughest Two Minutes in Sports”
Our department/team is located in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Area, Ramstein Air Base Germany. Founded years ago, members started off participating in the Scott Firefighter Challenge running in "proximity gear. Not an easy tasking but well represented. The team participation faded away and was then revived in 2010 and again in 2011, both very successful seasons. This year in 2012, our intentions are to represent and push for an even better showing with faster course times and reach even higher goals/standards set forth from previous years. It's only through the love and support of our leadership, coworkers, supporters friends and family...stateside and overseas, that this is possible. Thanks, always, for the support! V/r,
Team KMC 2012
