🌎Hahnair at ITE HCMC - International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City!

Our colleague, Son Dinh Vong representing Hahnair, attended the 20th edition of International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2026).
Under the theme “Vibrant Connections – Global Destinations,” the event brought together more than 500 exhibitors, 260 international hosted buyers from over 40 countries and territories, and 30,000+ visitors from across the global tourism industry.

ITE HCMC provided a valuable platform to connect with travel professionals, partners, and industry leaders, while exchanging perspectives on new opportunities, evolving traveller needs, and the future of international tourism.💜

🌍 Connecting Africa's Travel Industry Through Partnerships

Over the past weeks, Candy M. Kasonkomona, Regional Vice President Africa, represented Hahnair at several key industry events across the continent, strengthening relationships with travel trade partners and promoting collaboration across the African travel sector.

🎉 Celebrating 70 Years of ASATA
One highlight was Candy's participation in the 70th anniversary celebrations of the Association of Southern African Travel Advisors (ASATA) in Cape Town. The milestone event brought together former CEOs, presidents and industry leaders to reflect on seven decades of industry collaboration and achievement. The occasion highlighted ASATA's important role in shaping and supporting the travel industry in Southern Africa and beyond.

💡 Sharing Knowledge with Travel Professionals and GDS Partners
In Zambia, Candy led a series of engaging workshops for travel professionals in collaboration with industry partners including Travelport, Amadeus, Sabre, Association of Eastern and Southern Travel Agencies (AESATA) and the Travel Agents Association of Zambia (TAAZ). During the sessions, participants explored Hahnair solutions such as HR-169 ticketing and H1/X1 content available through travel agencies' GDSs, while exchanging ideas, experiences and best practices. The interactive workshops provided valuable opportunities for shared learning and strengthened partnerships across the travel distribution ecosystem.

🤝 Networking at AESATA 2026
Another highlight was Candy's role as Master of Ceremonies at the AESATA Conference in Livingstone, Zambia. Hosted by TAAZ under the theme Africa in Motion, the event brought together travel professionals and industry stakeholders from across East and Southern Africa. The conference provided a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and discussions on the future of travel and tourism across the region.

New partner airline on board: FlyArystan ✈️

We are happy to welcome FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Air Astana Group, to Hahnair’s growing network of more than 350 partner airlines.

FlyArystan flights are now available in major GDSs under the X1 code, allowing travel agents in over 190 markets to book and issue tickets on the insolvency-safe HR-169 document using their standard GDS reservation and ticketing process.

With domestic, international and charter flights from its bases in Almaty, Astana and Aktau, FlyArystan connects Kazakhstan with destinations across Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey, China and the Middle East.

🎉 Celebrating 20 years of Martin Zöllner at Hahnair 💜

Today, we are celebrating Martin Zöllner on his 20-year anniversary at Hahnair.

In the picture, Frederick Nowotny, EVP Operation, is on the left, and Martin is on the right.

Martin started his journey at the Front Desk and has since grown into his current role as Team Leader of the Second Level Support Desk. Over the past two decades, he has contributed with his knowledge, customer focus, loyalty, humour, openness, and willingness to continuously learn and adapt.

His colleagues especially value the way Martin stands behind his team. He motivates, supports, and helps find solutions, even when challenges go beyond his direct area of expertise. His commitment, customer-focused mindset, and ability to connect people and departments make him a valued colleague and team leader.

As Frederick Nowotny shares, working with Martin is always enjoyable, not only because of his professionalism, but also because of his positive spirit, open communication, and great sense of humour.
