Hi gang,
It's been 268 days since Berlin officially went on the first "lockdown". That's as many days where events have been canceled and teams haven't had the right to have and audience. There were days were it hurt to be reminded that we should have been hosting the Ballsie Talk, we should have been animating half-time show, we should have been planning The Exchange 2020, we should have been playing 24hours of basketball. There were days were we accepted the situation and used the time to make plans, hoping to resume shortly. And there were days where hope just wasn't enough. On those days we stayed quiet, watched you from the shadows, and thankfully you kept us afloat.
We happily witnessed the creation of new teams , while others fought to find a new home... and succeeded . We saw work hard (*wink*), even when no one knew when the next games would be. Youth players were encouraged to join outdoor practices at Tempelhofer Feld thanks to . came up with the funniest insta challenges, and even now we still have to keep us fit through the holiday season.
It's not over yet, but we feel that this message was long overdue. The truth is, we didn't know where to start. It's been 268 days since Berlin officially went on the first "lockdown". And there hasn't been one day where we didn't miss the game. If you've used this time to be more active than ever, kuddos to you! If you've enjoyed the break and are ready to rumble (like for real - with a crowd in the gym), we see you. And if you felt or still feel down, we're with you. Soon we will meet again on the court, in the gyms, on the playgrounds. Right now we will reload, recharge, reset. But most importantly we will stay Ballsie.
