Yes, martial arts are serious because they should prepare you for a real fight. You often need intense focus to execute the techniques properly. However, taking things light and allowing yourself to enjoy the training enables you to train hard without exhausting your mind. Thus your mind connects happiness and fun with a workout and you won’t need “motivation” or willpower to start training next time. So take it easy, smile from time to time and have a good time when you exercise.😁
Another way to make things fun is to throw in some challenging exercises like we did here with the spinning kicks. Even though theses techniques are difficult, the movement is a lot of fun to play around with.
Dodging spinning kicks is surprisingly fun too. If you can time it right, only stepping straight ahead when your opponent is spinning will do the trick.
Better to start practicing this slowly though. Timing and speed are key. ☝️
