Friday Rollup - Yes it was 🥵 & humid!!

‘Texas Scramble’ with 3- four balls braving the course ⛳️🏌️‍♀️🏌🏽‍♂️🫣… winner takes all!

Great day of golf, but today we acknowledge a few people (a few more to come) who make a good…⛳️👍 or bad 😱⛳️ round just that little bit better….👍

Always a smile, a chat & the drinks, food & cool towels to help the weary golfer on there way! ….. Thank you 🙏 from the PGA members.

‘Members Bar’ reopens in September for the ‘busy season’ and ‘Rita’ is on my radar… also the ‘Caddy guys’ who look after our clubs & ‘mental health’!… 😵‍💫😁😎

MID MONTHLY STABLEFORD - Minthis Hills G.C. (Sunday 16th August)

Our PGA regular away day was held this time at Minthis Hills and the course was in great condition. Tough, quick greens ⛳️ were going to be a challenge & ‘hats off’ to the members who walked the course!!…..🏌🏽‍♂️🫣😵‍💫🥵😮‍💨🏌️‍♀️

A strong field but who could tame the course & take home the prize money 💶?

RESULTS

1st 🥇 - Zenovy Mazur 39 points 💶 (pictured below with the Captain)

2nd 🥈- Paul Myrianthous 34 points (on countback) 💶

3rd 🥉 - Andy Michaelides 34 points 💶

PGA Charity - August Football Card

The 5th card this year & a very big thank you 🤩 to all PGA members & guests who have contributed and supported our PGA 2026 Charity - Cancer Patients Support Group….
Thanks to Russ P who won ALL the 2’s Money 💶 in today’s very well attended ‘Roll-Up’ and covered the last 7 teams on the card!! (No ‘arm twisting’ was involved! 😱)
Shout out to Dave Smith (not a football fan, but once visited ‘Hove Albion’?!..🤪) and won today !!🥳 €40 winnings of which he kindly donated €10 to the charity! 👍

A diary reminder that the ‘Captain v Chairwoman’ competition is booked at Elea on Sunday 18th October. Robin has already sent an email out to all members… but please get your names registered for the event asap which will include a ‘light lunch’ menu @ the 19th….🏌🏽‍♂️🏌️‍♀️…

MONTHLY COMPETITION - Sun 2nd Aug.

An excellent turnout on another ‘scorcher’ 🌞 🔥 🥵 😎 of a day at Elea GC… with all players opting for a golf cart to make it around the course ⛳️ still breathing!!😮‍💨

Division 1 winner - Paul Majoor 36 points

Division 2 winner - Tom Davis 39 points

Division 3 Winner - John Towey 36 points

Longest Drive - Craig Nixon

Only one 2's Winner - Robin Clarke (€40 💶)

A special mention to Paul M who turned a +4 over par front 9 to storm back with -4 under back 9….🏌🏽‍♂️👍 …. great comeback!

Wednesday Roll-up - ‘Stableford Pairs’

A great turnout from the Elea faithful organised by Lynne B every week! 🏌️‍♀️⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️… the weather was 🔥😎🥵😜…but no fear for the competitors playing in pairs with 💶 & bragging rights…up for grabs!

Special mention to a couple of new players, Daryl Robins & Colin Redpath (welcome) and a great debut for Colin, pictured below, accepting congratulations from the Captain for his Hole in One ⛳️ on the 3rd👍🥳 👏
(& yes Colin bought the 1st drink! 🍻 cheers!

PGA - MID MONTHLY COMP (Sun 19 July)

Rain ☔️, Snow ❄️ or Wind 💨 were nowhere in sight on another beautiful Sunny 🌞 day at Elea! 😎
Heat warnings for Sunday & the rest of the week were however 🔥🥵🫣… but did not deter the participating PGA members. 🏌️‍♀️⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️😎…. a shout out & thank you to the Elea Caddy guys who kept water bottles in plentiful supply on the course 💦⛳️💦👍.

RESULTS

WINNER - Lynne Betchley (38pnts) 💶. A great return to form for Lynne 🏌️‍♀️🥳 who missed most of the 2025 season thro’ injury.
2nd PLACE - Dave Thompson (36pnts) 💶 (on countback)
3rd PLACE - Steve Fowler (36pnts) 💶

PGA MONTHLY COMPETITION - Secret Valley G.C. (Sun 5th July)

A return to SV for our early July competition & maybe the 🥵🔥🤬 hot temperatures was the reason for a poor turnout on the day 🏌🏽‍♂️😭🏌️‍♀️…..
It was decided that the divisional trophies 🏆 would roll over to the August Comp.

However the good & the brave of the PGA members that risked heat stroke/exhaustion 🥵 battled it out on the course & a good days golf ensued with everyone enjoying the day! 🥳….. that’s why we play ⛳️ folks!!….👍😜❤️

RESULTS:

1st Place - Chris Pugh -38 points (on count-back)
2nd Place - Paul Myrianthous - 38 points
Nearest the Pin - Andrew Storry

MID MONTHLY Competition - 28/6/26

The Cyprus summer sun 🌞 is now entering its full ‘El Scorchio’ mode 🥵 ⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️🏌️‍♀️…. Golf bags packed with water & sunblock!!!
No problem for the PGA members who braved the Elea heat, although a few bedraggled faces arrived at the 19th!😱😎

RESULTS

Overall Winner - Steve Burge - 37 points (€35 💶)

Then 3 players on 36 points???…🙏

On countback Second place - Brent Walker 36 Points (€25 💶)
On countback Third place - Andrew Wharton 36 points (€15 💶)
and a near miss Keith Gallagher 36 points 😫… so close!!

2's Competition - Barry Hobday, Ian Mckay, John Towey, Steve Burge shared the €48 pot! ⛳️

PGA - JUNE Charity Football Card - WINNER (C.P.S.G.)

Thank you to all PGA members & friends who always go ‘that extra mile’ to make sure the 2026 PGA charity is supported.
Our latest June ‘Fundraising Football ⚽️Card’ was completed today by our very generous patron’s!…🙂

This followed another great PGA ‘’Mid Monthly’ 🏌️‍♀️🏌🏽‍♂️⛳️ Competition’ at Elea…more on the results & winners early next week!

Anyway…. drum roll 🥁….. the card WINNER & 💶 €40…. Prize goes to Tom Davis… 😁👍😎
