We have broken our slump of bad fishing. Way to go team!

Special guest onboard this week: Curtis Pride—former Major League Baseball player and one of the few deaf athletes to play in the big leagues. It's been an honor having him with us.

Fishing has been slow the past few days, so we decided to break the slump the way baseball players do... with a big party! As it turned out, we just happened to join thousands of Cape Verde soccer fans celebrating as Cape Verde punched its ticket to the knockout round. What an incredible night!

Maybe it worked. Today we landed an estimated 700–800 lb blue marlin. Unfortunately, the fish became tail-wrapped during the fight and came to the boat dead. Rather than let it go to waste, we'll be donating it to the local market.

Way to go, Curtis! Now let's top it off with another one on July 4th during the Blue Marlin World Cup.

Back in Cape Verde for our fourth time, and this place continues to amaze us.

The ocean, the mountains, the culture, the people, the music, the food, and the energy here are unlike anywhere else. Being here during Cape Verde’s World Cup celebration — watching the streets come alive after their tie with Spain — was something we’ll never forget.

We’re grateful to witness the growth, pride, and spirit of this country, and grateful to celebrate alongside the Cape Verdean fans.

This trip has been much more than fishing. It has been about returning to a place that has given Dreamin’ On so many unforgettable memories — blue marlin, dolphins, friendships, and moments that remind us why Cape Verde is so special.

A special thank you to Sevenstar Yacht Transport, who has been with us since the beginning of our world tour, for helping get Dreamin’ On here and making this return to Cape Verde possible.

First leg of 2026 starts where history runs deep.
Back to Cape Verde for the fourth time — 2008, 2012, 2016, and now again.

Grateful beyond words for the brothers and Randy, and for everyone who paved the way and built the legacy that lets us return. So many unforgettable moments, so much history in these waters.

Thankful to be back. Let’s see what this year brings.
