Mission failed.
The first thing we do when we get on the mat is to give our opponent's hand!
This symbolizes respect for the opponent
That is why Ukrainian athletes boycott competitions where athletes from russia - a terrorist country. We cannot respect people who support the war.
This week start rated tournament in Hungary, where we had to participate in competitions to get important points in the rating.
But we are not going, and we will not have a chance to test our strength. Because athletes representing a terrorist country take part in these competitions.
This is the most important year before the Olympics and every athlete gives twice effort to preparation.
But because of this cruel injustice, where Ukrainian athletes, often training to the sound of sirens, cannot take part, whilst athletes from russia have such opportunity. And this is despite the fact that most of them support russian aggression towards our country. Is this fair? I think, not! I believe that while the brutal war in Ukraine continues, russian athletes have no place the civilized world on the international stage!
