Are better?

Some people would buy zipless wetsuits not others. There are several reasons:

More flexible
They say this is by far the most flexible wetsuit on the market. Since there are no zippers and the neoprene is more elastic than a regular wetsuit, you have double the amount of flex. Neoprene has more elasticity, making it easier to put on a wetsuit. So it should be easier to paddle when surfing, or easier to grip when flying a kite.

Reduce flushing
They say that a wetsuit has less flushing (in and out of the wetsuit) than a front-zip or rear-zip wetsuit. So it should be more airtight, no zippers, and fewer seams in the wetsuit.

No loose zippers or irritation
There are no zippers and no cords, so they won't come loose or start to irritate when you surf or kite.

Warmer
Because there are no zippers in the wetsuit, there are fewer flushes, so the water in the wetsuit stays warmer for longer.

Zipper slider or runner size

zipper sizes are shown on a number from 1 to 10. The zipper size 1 is the smallest and the zipper size 10 is the largest. A size 10 zipper is much larger and stronger than a size 1. But its disadvantage is that it is too bulky and more prone to irritation.

For wetsuits, the most common sizes are between 5 and 10. You can see the size on the back of the runner.

Back zip wetsuits mostly have longer tooth chains, about 23.5 inches or 60cm.
Chest zip wetsuits mostly have shorter tooth chains, about 7.8 inches or 20cm.

Are chest / front zip better?

These suits are definitely newer than the back zip wetsuits. You'll think they're better. I'd say it's a personal preference. There are several reasons why people think the front zip wetsuit is better:

* They no longer have shoulder and neck problems when surfing because their back is more flexible.
* Wetsuits have less water because they have shorter zippers.
* They are more flexible when you paddle on the surfboard.
* They are warmer than a back zip wetsuit because you lose less heat through a shorter zipper.
* They are easier to put on because the zipper is at the front.
* They are usually more flexible because they need flexibility when wearing wetsuits.

Are back zip wetsuits better?

The back zip wetsuit is the traditional on the market and is of high quality. They are still being updated with new technologies and materials. Some people still think back zip wetsuits are better, here are a few reasons:

* For the most part, they are less expensive than front zip or zipless wetsuits.
* They are easier to put on because of the larger zipper at the back. The wide opening at the back makes it easier to pull your legs over the ends.
* They are adjustable at the neck with velcro at the end of the zipper. So you can choose how tight you want it to be on your neck.

Wetsuits insulation

Now we have a fitting suit, and your body has heated the water inside. Your body and the thin water film around it are tightly pressed by a thin layer of . The other side of neoprene is cold water. Now, although neoprene can insulate you from cold water, it is not a 100% effective insulator. Some of your body heat (and the heat contained in the thin water layer around you) will pass through neoprene and try to heat the outside water. When this happens, it cools down and you cool down. Therefore, if the water outside is very cold, the material will continue to lose heat. This is where thickness comes into play.

What is a GBS seam?

are the most common seals and are the your pros use in competitions: this is because they are the most elastic, but not durable enough to withstand the daily attacks of top surfers. GBS is the best option for weekend warriors because it seals well, stretches a lot, and is well priced. If you surf more than 3 times a week, it's worth considering "taped seams". GBS inserts the crochet needle halfway through the neoprene, resulting in no pinholes, but requires gluing on the unstitched side of the seam.

Blind Seam: High performance seam with maximum potential elasticity for use in competition suits. Usually reinforced with glue [GBS], which also improves sealing.

Glued parts with glued and blind stitched seams. As you can see: there are no pinholes on the sewing machine!

The thickness of the , the main factor is the water temperature. After all, the first job of a wetsuit is to keep warmth, and the colder the weather, the thicker the wetsuit needs to be to function!

Everyone's cold threshold is different, so personal preferences may vary. Below provides an overview of recommended wetsuit thicknesses for different water temperatures.

How Do Wetsuits Work

A is a neoprene insulating used for warmth and protection during . Wetsuits work by creating a thin layer of water between your body and the wetsuit. This layer of water is heated by your body, preventing you from losing too much heat in the water.

Water molecules conduct energy 25-40 times faster than air molecules. For example, on a 60-degree day, you might be comfortable outdoors in jeans and a shirt, while in water at the same temperature, you might start shivering within a few minutes.
