When it gets too loud in Thailand, we go to Japan.

It’s one of the things I love about Japan. It’s quiet. No matter where I go - to a small island in Okinawa or one of Japan’s megacities (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, …).

What do you think?

I think it’s time most convenient place where to stay near Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok. Great for a long layover and when departing early or arriving late.

Or - when you simply want to make your travel day easier. Like we did. Arriving to airport a day earlier 😀 Even though we could take a morning bus or taxi from Pattaya on the day of departure.

And we are taking that flight because it’s during the day. Not during the night, like most flights from Bangkok to Tokyo.

I can’t even describe how amazing it feels having all these options (10+ daily flights to most places we want to be, and most of them being 2-6 hours).

I like the bus. But taxi is a great option for 1) early mornings 2) late nights 3) every time when you don’t want to take a bus 4) a group with baggage.

The bus is always there. Same place. Fixed price.

Takes minutes. Saves hundreds. 20-30% discount is very common in Asia. So, if the booking is $1000, you can easily save $200-300 just by re-booking the same place.

Then do another few week test stay in your chosen city.

Commit if you feel like it.

If you’re choosing a touristy place like Pattaya (I live in Pattaya), remember that these place look COMPLETELY different in December - February vs the rest of the year.
