As the playing days go by so the teams are narrowing down to end at just 2 teams with the duty of 1 team to carry the day.
It's been an exciting journey with plenty of passion and emotions. Teams struggling to make the final two, that is how it's has been from the quarter finals of the on going TIKO GRASSROOT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT CUP.

The pairing for the Semi Finals of the on going TIGFOT CUP maiden edition for both the U13 and the U15 categories has been made known by the OC for TIGFOT, signed by the SG for TIGFOT Mr Tatah Standley, the games shall take place on the 15th and 16th of April 2026 at the GS NDONGO Primary School field and the Tiko Town Green field for the U13 and U15 categories respectively.

For the U13 at 1:00 PM LIKOMBA LIONS shall be locking horns with AKIRIBA SA. LIKOMBA LIONS after gaining confidence by knocking out NEW STARS shall want to prove more while facing AKIRIBA SA who came back into the competition as Best lossers lossing on post match penalties against LLEFCEN SA, AKIRIBA SA who is still to loose a game on regular time will want to maintain that standards by wanting to defeat LIKOMBA LIONS.

The second game which shall be a whole big local derby between LLEFCEN SA and LIONS ACADEMY, both teams train on the same pitch and have know them selves for a while with Coach AYUK BASIL being a formal coach of LLEFCEN SA and having groomed most of the players, games between the two centers has also been a clash of the titans.
With LIONS ACADEMY still to loose a game in the tournament and eliminating LESA by 3 goals to 1 in the quarter finals, it shall be another opportunity to maintain superiority in the tournament while LLEFCEN SA coming back as Best Loosers in the 8th finals and eliminating AKIRIBA SA on post penalty shoots in the quarter finals, will want to stop the winning run of LIONS ACADEMY. It shall be a game not to miss since the game will have plenty of suspense. Both teams play for the first time against each other in the tournament.

For the U15 Semi Finals

For the first game on Thursday the 16th LLEFCEN SA who beat NEW STARS in the 1/4 finals shall ones again be facing same NEW STARS who come as Best Loosers into the Semi Finals. It shall be the moment for NEW STARS to take their revenge on LLEFCEN SA by trying to book a spot into the finals. LLEFCEN SA who seem more confident shall also want to be at the final Jamboree by also booking a spot for the final.

The second game shall see AFRIC MIDI against EKONA YOUTHS. EKONA YOUTHS who have been on stand by come into the Cup only during the Semi Finals while AFRIC MIDI had to see away EEMSA by a score aggregate of 7 goals to 2 to reach the Semi Finals.

Which teams make it to the final 2 on Wednesday and Thursdays shall be known on the pitch as from 1PM both days.

Return leg games for the U15 Cup for the on going TIKO GRASSROOT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT was played today at the Toll gate field.

In the first game LLEFCEN SA had rights over NEW STARS SA beating them by 2 goals to 0. A first half goal from MENDI DESMOND put LLEFCEN SA in front while a second half goal from ESUA KENNEDY sealed the day for LLEFCEN SA sending them into the Semi Finals of the Cup. The first leg game ending in a 1 all tie between the 2 teams.

In the second game the 1 all tie between EEMSA and AFRIC MIDI wasn't enough to see EEMSA sail through to the semis since they had lost to AFRIC MIDI in the first leg 2 goals to 6 but EEMSA with its very young and agile team surprised the Moungo boys just like in the first leg by opening scores at the 15th minute of the game. AFRIC MIDI was able to level scores only 5 minutes to full time make it 1 1 for both teams.
AFRIC MIDI qualifies for the Semis on a 7 to 3 goals aggregate.

It's was an interesting Saturday at the GS NDONGO Primary School field where we had the games for the 1/4 Finals of the on going TIGFOT Cup.

The battle for the Cup Winner becomes more tighten as we narrow down to 4 teams.

Very interesting to see teams buckling up to be part of the final day come April 19.

In the first game today, a more confident NEW STARS SA was slammed by a more courageous LIKOMBA LIONS side by 3 goals to 5. LIKOMBA LIONS showed their determination to carry the day by opening scores in the 5th minute of play, they then went to double scores at the 15th minute of play through EBUNE SHARMA, NEW STARS then pull one back at the 20th minute but again LIKOMBA LIONS proved ones again their determination by increasing tally just 1 minute after NEW STARS pulled back 1. It's was 3 1 at half time in favour of LIKOMBA LIONS.
Upon resumption NEW STARS took over the game and score a second goal but LIKOMBA LIONS answered back ones again with EBUNE SHARMA making it 4 2 for the boys of LIKOMBA LIONS, at the end of the game it was 3 for NEW STARS and 5 for LIKOMBA LIONS, with EBUNE SHARMA scoring a hard trick. This defeat was the first for NEW STARS in the tournament.
LIKOMBA LIONS was the first team to get a ticket for the semi finals.

The second game pitting LLEFCEN SA against AKIRIBA SA was very tight since both teams had to seperate them selves through penalty kicks after a 0 0 tie on regular time. AKIRIBA SA proved more offensive but the tight block at the defence and the vigilance of the LLEFCEN SA goal keeper KAH BELCHRIST did keep the game at 0 all score line. LLEFCEN SA carried the day after scoring 4 penalties against 3 for AKIRIBA SA, ones again with KAH BELCHRIST the goal keeper for LLEFCEN SA being very decisive stopping 2 of AKIRIBA SA 5 penalty shots. LLEFCEN SA picked up the 2nd ticket into the Semi Finals while AKIRIBA SA comes back as Best Loosers

The last and 3rd game of the day which was LESA vs LIONS ACADEMY. Both teams sharing the top of the league table had the duty to show supremacy during the quarter final Cup game. LIONS ACADEMY proved more matured and composed in their game which gave them a cutting raiser at the 18th minute of the game. A wonderful and perfect free kick from TABOT INIESTER of LESA pulled tally to 1 1 but again LIONS ACADEMY proved more mature by scoring twice making scores at half time 3 1 in favour of LIONS ACADEMY. Both teams tried to manage play and gain possession but all of that didn't help in changing the scores of the game which ended at 3 1 in favour of LIONS ACADEMY. LESA thus recorded their first defeat in the tournament while LIONS ACADEMY continue with their unbeaten run.

The race for which team shall be the winner of the maiden edition of the TIGFOT CUP 2026 is on and very tight as we draw nearer to the finals.

The Organizing Committee for TIGFOT published today the 9th of April the fixtures for the 1/4 final games for the U13 category and the return leg 1/4 final games for the U15 category.

For the U13 Category which shall be played at the GS NDONGO school field on Saturday the 11th of April 2026,
The first game which shall be at 1pm shall be a clash of the titans between NEW STARS SA and LIKOMBA LIONS, both teams winning their 1/8 final game on the field of play but NEW STARS still unbeaten in the tournament. LIKOMBA LIONS shall be wanting to reverse that unbeaten record of NEW STARS SA after gaining confidence last Tuesday by beating LLEFCEN SA in a day 4 league fixture.

LLEFCEN SA who came back to the competition as Best Loosers shall be locking horns with AKIRIBA SA a very stubborn side of Coach Tanjong. The last encounter between the two teams in the league stage ended up in a draw meaning no team shall be new to the other. It shall be a fierced battle between the two teams with AKIRIBA SA still to loose a game in the tournament while LLEFCEN SA is from two straight defeats in the league.

The third and last game for the day shall see 2 top table leaders LIONS ACADEMY and LESA battling for a place in the semi finals. LESA being a very young and resilient team shall be facing a matured and brave LIONS ACADEMY. Both teams sharing the top of the table and still to play each other in the league face, both of them shall try to maintain supremacy in the tournament.

These 3 games shall be mouth watering games not to miss this coming Saturday the 11 of April 2026.

For the U15 categories all roads shall lead to toll gate on Sunday the 12 of April 2026 where we shall have the return leg games for the 1/4 family finals.

AFRIC MIDI shall be taking on EEMSA whom they beat in the first leg 6 goals to 2. AFRIC MIDI will have the opportunity to sail through to the semi finals by maintaining their winning run against EEMSA.

In the second game LLEFCEN SA shall be taking on NEW STARS SA after a 1 1 draw during the first leg, both teams shall be struggling to gain a victory to sail through to the semis.
EKONA YOUTHS Stands By during this face of the Cup games, they shall come in during the semi finals.

The battle becomes more fierced as the teams narrow down gradually.

Lets be at GS NDONGO and TOLL GATE on the 11 and 12 of April respectively to watch these mouth watering games.

TIKO GRASSROOT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT was in its day 2 playing day today at the Toll gate field Moungo.
League leaders LLEFCEN SA had it all easy since their oponent NEW STARS SA didn't show up for the game. LLEFCEN SA keep the top of the table with 6 points after 2 games winning all 2 games while NEW STARS SA looses 3 points on the classification table sending them to a -2 points and seating last in the league table.

The first game for the day saw AFRIC MIDI beating EKONA YOUTHS by 2 goals to 1, a very tight game which saw AFRIC MIDI open scores during the first half of the game but EKONA YOUTHS came to level scores through a defensive error from the defence of AFRIC MIDI. It was just 3 minutes to fill time which George Etuka for AFRIC MIDI gave his side a second goal which stayed till full time.
AFRIC MIDI thus moves second on the league table with 3 points after 1 game while EKONA YOUTHS might move to the 3rd place on the league table with 1 point after 2 games.

Day 2 games for the U15 Tiko Grassroot football tournament shall take place tomorrow at the toll gate field Moungo.

League leaders LLEFCEN SA shall be playing against NEW STARS SA of Tiko while AFRIC MIDI shall play host to EKONA YOUTHS.

EEMSA shall be standing by during this day of play.

Day 4 matches for the U13 category of the on going Tiko Grassroot Football Tournament were played at the GS Ndongo football field.

The first game of the day saw both teams BRAVE YOUTHS and EKONA YOUTHS all absent for their game, BRAVE YOUTHS presented just 6 players which by normal regulation doesn't form a team to take part in a game while EKONA YOUTHS who seemed very organized in the beginning of the tournament didn't show up at all.

The second game for the day saw LESA a young dynamic and resilient squad edging AJAX LIONS by 1 goal to 0. This victory continues their unbeaten run in the league playing 4 games, winning 3 and drawing 1 giving the 10 points sitting 2nd on the league table, while AJAX LIONS still to get a point on the league table is at the 9th position after 4 games played winning none, drawing none and loosing 4.

The third game of the day which was a serious local derby between LIKOMBA LIONS and LLEFCEN SA saw LIKOMBA LIONS carrying the day by a 2 goal to 1 score line. LLEFCEN SA opened scores at the 5th minute of the game but that was not enough as LIKOMBA LIONS came from behind to level scores and later on at the 45th minute of the game increased their goal tally to 2 and held on to that till the end of regular play time. This victory sends LIKOMBA LIONS to the 5th position on the league table with 6 points after 4 games while LLEFCEN SA looses one position to seat at the 6th position on the league table with 4 points after 4 games.

The 4th game of the day saw a stubborn AKIRIBA SA side holding down LIONS ACADEMY to a 1 1 draw. It was a match to watch with LIONS ACADEMY opening scores at the 35th minute of play. Just when they taught it was all done, a careless play from the LION ACADEMY defender ended up in a penalty in favour of AKIRIBA SA which was converted to a goal. This draw has pulled back LIONS ACADEMY who now share the top of the table with 10 points after 4 games maintaining their unbeaten run while AKIRIBA SA moves 1 position up to 4th place on the league table with 6 points after 4 games also maintaining an unbeaten run.

The last game for the day was NEW STAR SA against EEMSA. 8 man EEMSA almost held down NEW STAR to a draw until 8 minutes to the end of the game were NEW STARS found the back of the net giving them the day. Their 1 goal to 0 victory over EEMSA sends them to the 3rd position on the league table sharing the top of the table with LESA and LIONS ACADEMY, also recording 10 points after 4 games.

Day 5 matches shall come up after the finals of the CUP which shall take place on the 19th of April 2026.

LIONS ACADEMY, LESA, NEW STARS and AKIRIBA SA are still unbeaten after 4 days of play while AJAX LIONS and EKONA YOUTHS are still record a point.

The most anticipated Cup 1/8 final games of for the U13 and 1/4 final for the U15 categories was played over the weekend of 4 and 5 of April 2026 at the GS EBANJA school field and the Town Green field respectively.

For the U13 category
NEW STARS SA had rights over AJAX LIONS FC beating them by 2 goals to 0. This keeps NEW STARS in an unbeaten run in both league and cup.
AKIRIBA SA had a slim edge over BRAVE YOUTHS FC beating them by 1 goal to 0
LIONS ACADEMY had the highest scores in this face beating EKONA YOUTHS by 6 goals to 1
The most anticipated local derby between LIKOMBA LIONS and LLEFCEN SA ended in favour of LIKOMBA LIONS in a score line of 2 goal to 1.
The last game of the day between LESA and EEMSA didn't take place due to the insufficient players for EEMSA to take part in the game.

NEW STARS SA, AKIRIBA SA, LIONS ACADEMY, LIKOMBA LIONS and LESA progress to the next stage while LLEFCEN SA comes back as BEST LOOSERS. The 1/4 finals shall be played on Saturday the 11 of April 2026 at the GS EBANJA school field.

For the U15, it was the first league of the 1/4 finals which ended in AFRIC MIDI white washing EEMSA by 6 goals to 2 while NEW STARS SA pulled a 1 all tie with LLEFCEN SA. The return leg games shall be played on Sunday the 12 of April 2026 at Toll Gate field, Modeka.

The SG for TIGFOT has today the 25th of March 2026 release the Cup fixtures, Day 4 and Day 2 games for the U13 and U15 categories respectively.

The weekend of 28 to 29 of March 2026 shall see a momental break of the tournament, when the tournament resumes on the 4th of April 2026 we shall have mouth watering games for the CUP of the tournament.

At the GS EBANJA (AIRPORT FIELD) for the U13 category at 10:30 AM: AJAX LIONS FC shall lock horns with NEW STARS SA

12:00 AM: AKIRIBA SA shall clash with BRAVE YOUTHS. The rising of AKIRIBA SA in the league shall be tasted on this day by BRAVE YOUTHS from Modeka.

1:30 PM: LIONS ACADEMY will have to prove their supremacy ones again when they shall clash with EKONA YOUTHS

3:00 PM: This shall be a very strong local derby between LLEFCEN SA and LIKOMBA LIONS, two clubs from Likomba locking horns for who books the ticket for 1/4 finals. This shall be a game to be watched.

4:30 PM , the last clash for the day will be LESA clashing with EEMSA, the young and dynamic team for LESA will have to hold down EEMSA a house hold name to book their ticket for the 1/4 finals.

DAY 4 games shall continue on April 8th at MODEKA

The Tiko Grassroot Football Tournament was in its 3rd day of play last Sunday the 22nd of March 2026 at the Police Barack Football field Tiko.
The tournament becomes intense and more engaging as the teams begin to tussle for the league Champion.

LIONS ACADEMY of Coach Ayuk Basil maintained their winning stands over BRAVE YOUTHS of Modeka by beating them 2 goals to 1 keeping them at the top of the table with 9 points and yet to loss a game, they have been on a 3 on 3 victory, with so far the best attack, having scored 8 times in 3 games. Even though lossing, BRAVE YOUTHS still have the second best attack, scoring 7 times in 3 games, they occupy the 5th position on the league table with 4 points after 3 games.

LESA of Coach Ayisi Boyomo who are still to loose a game made a significant climb to 2nd position on the league table after beating LIKOMBA LIONS by 1 goal to 0. LIKOMBA LIONS occupys the 7th position of the league with 3 points after 3 games, this is their 2nd consecutive loss.

NEW STARS SA of Coach Otto Helman had reasons over LLEFCEN SA of Likomba, getting a slim victory 1 goal to 0 putting them on the 3rd spot on the league table with 7 points

AKIRIBA SA came in strong beating AJAX LION FC by 2 goals to 0 giving them their first victory in the tournament which sends them to the 4th position on the league table. AJAX LIONS FC still to record a victory after 3 games, loosing all 3 games putting them at the bottom of the table with 0 points.

EEMSA of coach Odemene Nzams Kelvin also recoreded their first victory on Sunday after beating EKONA YOUTHS 2 goals to 1, EKONA YOUTHS looked threatening at the beginning of the game opening scores at the 9th minutes of play but EEMSA came from behind to score 2 goals. EKONA YOUTHS still to register a point after 3 games.

Today was the rap up of Day 1 for both U13 and U15 games for the on going Tiko Grassroot Football Tournament.

In the U13
1) LIKOMBA LIONS defeated EKONA YOUTHS by 1 goal to 0

2) LLEFCEN SA defeated EEMSA by 1 goal to 0

3) AKIRIBA SA and BRAVE YOUTHS had 1 all draw

4) NEW STARS and LESA had a 1 all draw

5) LIONS ACADEMY defeated AJAX FC by 2 goals to 1

For the U15

1) LLEFCEN SA defeated EEMSA by 2 goals to 0

2) NEW STARS and EKONA YOUTHS had a 1 all draw.
