The African Dodgeball Confederation (CAD), led by its President, Yao Marie Josiane, together with the Congolese Dodgeball Federation (FENADOC), represented by its President, Ariane M’Baki, were received in audience by Didier Budimbu Ntubwanga, Minister of Sports and Leisure of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
This institutional and diplomatic meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen sports cooperation between African dodgeball governing bodies and the Congolese sports authorities. Discussions focused on the promotion and development of dodgeball in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and across the African continent, the presentation of the pan-African project D4DA – Dodgeball For Development in Africa, as well as prospects for organizing competitions and youth training programs.
During the meeting, Mrs. Yao Marie Josiane commended the commitment of the Congolese authorities toward the structuring and promotion of emerging sports disciplines. She also reaffirmed the willingness of the African Dodgeball Confederation to support the Democratic Republic of the Congo in its efforts to professionalize and enhance the visibility of African dodgeball.
For her part, Mrs. Ariane M’Baki, who also serves as Central Africa Representative of the CAD, presented the progress achieved by the Congolese Dodgeball Federation while highlighting the challenges related to athlete supervision, the popularization of the discipline, and the organization of national and regional sporting activities.
In a symbolic gesture reflecting African fraternity and cultural heritage, the President of the CAD presented His Excellency the Minister with a traditional attire representing the Dan, Yacouba, and Toura peoples from the mountainous western region of Côte d’Ivoire, along with an official CAD dodgeball. She also expressed her gratitude to the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the warm welcome extended to the CAD delegation from Côte d’Ivoire.
Speaking on the occasion, Didier Budimbu Ntubwanga praised the journey and achievements of the African Dodgeball Confederation in promoting dodgeball across the continent. He reiterated the interest of the Congolese Government in the development of sport as a vector for national unity, youth empowerment, and international cooperation. The Minister also encouraged initiatives aimed at increasing the visibility of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in African and international competitions.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of cordiality, mutual respect, and constructive collaboration, marking a significant step forward in strengthening relations between the African Dodgeball Confederation, the Congolese Dodgeball Federation, and the sports authorities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
