Europe's only inter-resort head to head moguls contest Participants must possess a season pass for the resort they represent.

Founder, Tom Banfield, organised the first Boss des Bosses in Chamonix back in 1990, throwing down the gauntlet to a friend from Val d’Isère to settle their dispute over which resort had the best skiers. Since then other resorts, including Zermatt, Verbier, Meribel, Portes des Soleil and Courcheval have joined the fun in the sun and fought it out over a series of 25 annual events. Tom explains tha

t after a 5 year hiatus, ‘the Phoenix rises again.’ This time on the Swiss side of the boarder, where he has been warmly welcomed by Téléverbier. Male and female athletes navigate a steep section of snowy bumps (’bosses’ in french) scoring points for speed, style and two giant jumps, which are built into the course. Each team includes skiers, snowboarders, télémarkers and a mono-skier, battling it out to impress the judges and to determine which resort has the best skiers. Prizes are awarded for the winning team, the best run, best jump, best wipeout and best costume.

“The Phoenix rises again!”

Two time French National Champion and World Cup winner, Ben Cavet, representing Portes du Soleil, will race against the likes of extreme ski legend, Glen Plake, who lives in Chamonix.

BOSS DES BOSSES 2026 — 30 YEARS

Megève takes it this year 🏆 Backed by as team captain , with a stacked crew including , and teams from Verbier, Zermatt, Méribel, and Chamonix.

Best costume? Méribel. Bathrobes, mankinis… say no more 👙🏝️☀️

But like always, it wasn’t just about the skiing.

FULL EVENT GUIDE — BOSS DES BOSSES 2026
The legendary freestyle showdown returns for its 30th edition. Riders from across resorts come together to take on the bumps with their own flair, while the mountain fills with colour, energy and community.

🎿 Competition kicks off at 11:00, with riders dropping in one after another, bringing their best lines and personality to the course.

🏆 At 15:30, we celebrate the winners, the outfits, and the moments that made the day.

🍾 From 16:00, we take it down to for après and a proper finish.

📍 Getting to the course location by foot:
From Carrefour, walk past 1936 Bar, follow the blue path uphill, cross the piste with care, then continue towards Le Mayentzet, the course sits just above. The walk takes around 20-30 minutes. ⚠️ Please move carefully across pistes, respect other skiers and follow marked paths, we’re all sharing the mountain.

🎭 Best Dressed
Boss des Bosses is as much about style as it is about skiing. Go bold, go retro, go all in open to riders and spectators. The most iconic look of the day takes home a legendary one-piece ski suit.

Food, drinks and toilets are available at Mayentzet.

Born from a bar argument in Val d’Isère in 1989 about which resort had the best skiers, Boss des Bosses quickly became the ultimate inter-resort mogul showdown.

What made it different? Not an individual knock-out race, but a team competition, where mountain towns came together to prove who truly ruled the bumps. Over the years, the event has brought together generations of skiers, seasonnaires, and characters of the alpine community; including the unforgettable Jamie “Stryker” Strachan, whose spirit and love for the mountains left a lasting mark on the scene.🤍🕊️
