Borne Cycling was established with one simple goal:

To enable cyclists like you to see some of Europe’s most spectacular roads.

We want to use our knowledge and experience to give you a cycling holiday that will live long in the memory.

Our 2027 road cycling tour dates are out.

Highlights for next year include a new flexible training camp option in the French Alps, stay for 1 night or 3 weeks and join a group ride every day.

We’ve also got a tour planned around the Ventoux Gran Fondo in early June, as well as the historic Nove Colli Gran Fondo in Cesanatico on the Italian Adriatic coast.

Plus we’re offering a Classic Climbs of the Tour de France week, with 2 options: North to South and South to North. Ride multiple Tour de France classics in one week.

And let’s not forget the incredible Maratona dles Dolomites - with this year the option to keep the fun going with an mult-day extension in Bormio to ride the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo.

There is something magical about being on the bike, be it in the mountains, on a gravel track, or riding through the plains. The moments of quiet that we experience, often only broken by the sound of our breath, or the whirring of our freehub, are moments of pure joy.

This year we’ve been privileged to climb Mont Ventoux at sunrise, and every year we try to do at least one big early morning climb to catch what we think is often the best part of the day. No cars, only us and our bikes.

At Borne Cycling we plan our tours to take you to places that not everyone goes, or ensure that when we do ride those “famous” climbs, we try to make sure to ride them at quieter moments. Often it can feel like just us and the mountain.

This week’s blog is a continuation of Jagoda’s posts about her summer of riding. This edition is focused on her week with us at the Maratona dles Dolomites.
The trip to Ventoux gave me both confidence and hunger for more. But what was next? July, which brought with it a packed schedule: the Maratona dles Dolomites, l’Etape du Tour, and both Tour de France (Hommes et Femmes) to spectate.

Well, where do I start with the Dolomites? I knew it was gonna be the highlight of the year well before it happened.

Pax (peace) was the main theme of the 39th edition of the Maratona. As much as it corresponds to global hopes, the Dolomites themselves bring a sense of peace. Arriving in Corvara transported us into another realm, where we could sit back & relax, or rather sit down & pedal (an active, more preferred alternative). Borne Cycling’s support means that all we need to do is pedal. But that often comes as a challenge itself, albeit a very rewarding one.

Corvara wakes up slowly day by day, transforming itself from a sleepy mountain village into a lycra-dressed, vibrant zone, full of hub-orchestra noise that is music to a cyclist’s ears. You are never alone on the road; there is just more and more of everything and everyone.

Will we see you on the road in October?

No, not Paris-Roubaix, not even the Tour of Flanders. These are Swiss cobblestones, and like all roads in Switzerland, they are smooth.

Until you’ve ridden the Tremola of the San Gotthard pass then you can’t really understand what the fuss is all about. This is not a difficult climb, but it is epic in its own special way. 4km of cobblestones with 24 hairpins, the Tremola is the cherry on the cake of a magnificent loop from Andermatt, and the final of 3 climbs, following the Furka and Nufenenpasses.

With Borne Cycling all you have to do is feel the cobbles under your wheels, we’ll look after after thing else.

I know the hot days of summer 2026 are far from over, yet my goals for this year are all ticked off. What a summer it has been!

Plenty of dates were marked in the calendar, both as a cyclist and a spectator - and I still can’t decide which was more exciting. I often say how lucky we are in Geneva - being surrounded by amazing roads, nature, and having the TdF passing quite close pretty much every season. 2026 was a double whammy!

Not only did the men’s Tour roll over our favourite nasty climb of La Croisette, but we were honoured with the Grand Depart of the Tour de France Femmes avec ZWIFT. Three spectacular days of insane energy that still give me chills. But hey, let’s start from the beginning.

While we have the largest lake in Western Europe here on our doorstep - there are so many lakes, big and small, that we visit on our tours.

For a complete contrast to Lac Léman, consider the Lac de Joux Plane, some 1000 metres higher and a beautiful reward for conquering the Col de Joux Plane from Samoëns (or indeed from Morzine). Both sides are ridden on our early summer training camps.

But our tours aren’t always just about the climbing, we love a flat lake ride as much as the next cyclist - so get in touch and see which alpine lakes you’ll be cycling beside on your next adventure.

Soon after moving to Geneva and buying my very first road bike, one question began to loom large: Is it possible to ride all the way around Lac Léman?
At the time, my definition of a “long ride” was a casual spin along the lakeside road to Nyon and back – a modest 40 kilometers. I still vividly recall wandering into my local bike shop, proudly regaling Carlos, the shop’s Portuguese owner, with the details of my heroic morning output. One glance at his eyes told me everything I needed to know. He wasn’t quite as blown away by my athletic prowess as I was.
Realizing that building real engine capacity meant expanding my radius, I started hunting for ride buddies on local expat forums. Before long, we were stretching out our mileage, banking longer hours in the saddle, exploring the lush Geneva vineyards, and pushing deeper along both sides of the lake.
