This was Derek’s first time hitting the driver!

We began to build an understanding of the key areas and what has to happen fundamentally to be consistent from the tee.

Derek made some great strides and to finish the session we added some context by pe***ng him up on the 18th at Royal Lytham.

The set up position is the cause of all evil in my golf swing!

Right ➡️
Weight is too much in my heels, causing me to be too far from the ball. The butt of the club is a fraction low which impacts my spine angle and therefore how efficiently I manage to rotate!

The Butt of the club pointing at my belt buckle which improves my spine angle plus allowing my weight to be more centred which creates a more ‘athletic’ posture. Both of these factors allow me to inch a fraction closer to the ball which helps my pivot!

Here is Keiran learning that controlling the launch angles and strike point on the clubface will result in better distance control.

We created his personal wedge distance chart and gave him ways of implementing this into his practice sessions.

🔑 Listening and understanding to the sound of the strike is a key factor in developing your golf!
