MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Kathryn Dzikowicz
Became a certified Fitness Instructor in 1991 at her local YMCA on Fermor Avenue, at the age of 19. Her passion for fitness was ignited in high school taking an aerobics class over the lunch hour with one of her now Yoga instructors (working at her studio) Lisa Hill. At the time Lisa inspired me and I went and got certified to teach too!

Kerri Chase, was the instructor of that first course she took at the YMCA ! Now things have come full circle and both Kerri an Lisa teach at Kathryn's studio, Blue Sky Fitness Studio in St. Vital.

Blue Sky Fitness and Health Coaching has now been an operation for almost 9 years with over 30 classes weekly and numerous personal training clients.

When we asked Kathryn to be our member spotlight she said "I have been very blessed to have had a successful and extremely enjoyable career in fitness and appreciate all that the Manitoba Fitness Council does for its members! I am coming up on my 35th year with MFC which is crazy 🤪"

We are so honored to have many long-time members. They help motivate and inspire so many new fitness leaders and provide smart and safe fitness leadership across our province.

🎉 Race Weekend Wins! 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Kat crushed the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women 10K this morning—3rd place in her age group! 🥉💪 All in support of mental health, a cause close to our hearts.

Meanwhile, Jay took on the Riverview Cycle on Life, biking 25 km through beautiful streets of Winnipeg and raising awareness for healthy living 🚴‍♂️🌲

We move for our minds, our bodies, and our community. 💚
