Kiano has been a consistent presence at every Hoop Metric Session, and the growth in his game has been impossible to ignore. His skill level, focus, and understanding of what he needs to improve on have all dramatically increased over time.
What stands out most is his willingness to learn. Kiano is beginning to understand that development is not only about being coached — it’s also about being self-aware, asking questions, and taking ownership of the process.
Today’s session was different. We allowed Kiano to lead parts of the workout because we believe in empowering players to become active participants in their own development. There is a time for instruction, and there is also a time for exploration. Both are essential for long-term growth.
Watching Kiano step into that leadership role showed maturity, confidence, and a deeper connection to the game. This is the kind of progress that goes beyond basketball skills — it’s building habits and mindset that will impact his future both on and off the court.
