I'm super grateful to have crossed paths with Rob from Handcrafted Fishing Reels & Legacy Tackle. He's such a great friend and someone who loves fishing so deeply, and preserving some of the incredibly rich Canadian history that we have behind it. If you ever have a chance to visit Vancouver Island, you absolutely have to make PEETZ a destination. It's one of the most special experiences you'll ever have.

With all of the toxicity, anger, and negativity bleeding into the fishing community, let's never forget that time on the water is so much more than just catching fish. You never know what the person on the riverbank next to you is going through, or how much their time on the water is important to them. River season is always a bittersweet time for me. I absolutely love it, but it hurts me to see how mean people can be to each other on the water. Sometimes all people need is a little bit of help, and a little bit of grace. Let's try to do better, and build a community that we're proud of together.

A slow finish to salmon season, but here's a throwback to some beautiful early season fish! Starting to get the yak packed up and prepped for the winter winter months. So hard to believe this summer went as quickly as it did, but grateful for the adventures and time we had there. Maybe one or two more trips out on the bay, and then back to the river we go! See you out there 🫡
