EXPERIENCED ARENA ATTENDANT WANTED
We are a family owned, 3-on-3 hockey rink located in West Kelowna, BC and are currently seeking a part-time Rink Attendant with previous ice rink facility experience, including some experience driving an ice resurfacer (Zamboni). This position does not require an Ice Facility Operator Certificate or Refrigeration Certification (note: we are a freon-based facility, not ammonia-based).
Shifts that are available include weekday mornings, weekday afternoon/evenings and weekends (Successful candidate will be required to do at least one weekend shift per week - other shifts can be discussed with short-listed candidate.)
Responsibilities will include ice operations (ice resurfacing, edging, spudding), facility cleaning/basic facility maintenance, dealing with customers and the general public and skate sharpening (we will provide training for candidates with no previous skate sharpening experience).
Despite being a significantly smaller, easy-to-manage facility, and not requiring staff to carry refrigeration or facility operation certification, we will pay a competitive wage to candidates depending on level of experience.
Successful candidates must have reliable transportation and a Class 5 BC Drivers License, be comfortable working alone, but also work well as part of a team, be responsible, reliable and presentable. All staff are required to have First Aid Certification. (First Aid course will be covered by employer if candidate not certified). RCMP Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Checks will be required. All candidates, regardless of experience, will undergo some degree of training due to the uniqueness of our facility operation.
