**Starting October 14th**

This whole body class will focus on movements that help mobilize and open the chest and hips, strengthen the backbody, and find length and stretch. These classes will explore movements across the pilates apparatus such as the

✨ tower
✨ chair
✨ spine corrector
✨ reformer

Choice of apparatus(es) used in each class can vary, and props may be used as well. Fundamental exercises and mat work will be woven through the classes.

This class is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their posture, embrace the mind body connection that pilates offers while building strength, and find strength, stretch, stamina, and stability in their body because they spend a lot of time flexed forward over electronic devices. This is also great for body workers who spend a lot of time rounded over their clients. This is your mid-week reset and restore for your body with some movement that feels good. It is also a great way to experience and explore movement across a variety of apparatuses.

No experience is needed, and all bodies and abilities are welcome for this drop in class.

Classes are $30 at LU Pilates in Market Square, Wednesdays at 7pm. Although they are drop in style classes, please sign up online in advance so that I can manage the number of spots available, as space is limited.

Email or DM me for more details.

The October semester of the beginner reformer classes is now open for booking. You can find the link to register in my bio, or you can email or dm me.

The beginner reformer classes are taught at a slower pace designed for intentionally exploring movement in your own body as well as learning the foundational concepts and the traditional beginner level reformer exercises. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome. Space is limited.

I’m away for the first week in October so the cost is $120 for the 4 remaining weekly classes in October ($30/class). Both e-transfer and cash are accepted. The classes are booked by the month as I strongly believe that consistency is key in seeing the progress in your practice, and that setting some time aside for yourself each week can make a huge difference. While we have progressed since the classes began in February, they are still very approachable for anyone who is new to Pilates. That said, if you’re interested, but know you’ll be away for some of these dates, please let me know and I can work with you on that. Please reach out with any questions!

All classes will be held at LU Pilates in Market Square (202-560 Johnson Street) at 6pm Thursdays.

I also believe that consistency is key in seeing the progress in your practice, and that setting time aside for yourself each week makes a difference. That said, if you’re interested, but know you will be away some of these dates, please let me know and I can work with you on that. Additionally, if the cost is a barrier, please reach out to me. I will see what I can do to support your movement practice. I want people to be able to explore movement that feels good, and I try to be as accessible as I can.

Anyone undergoing their teacher training through Lauren Brandt Pilates, and would like a drop in option, please reach out to me. I am happy to offer a discount to teachers in training who are working through their hours.

All classes will be held at LU Pilates in Market Square (202-560 Johnson Street) at 6pm Thursdays.

Summer is coming to an end and fall is waiting in the wings. As we start to see days getting shorter, skies getting greyer, and the weather getting cooler it’s important to remember to keep up with a healthy movement practice.

The August Beginner Reformer semester is halfway over and registration begins soon for September. The Midweek Reset class will return this fall. Keep your eyes open for registration opening soon.

Do something nice for your body as we transition from summer into autumn. Move, breathe, regulate, reset, and build strength and body awareness with a consistent Pilates practice.

Reach out to me with any questions. I’m here to help and provide a safe and supportive environment to move your body in.

I’ve decided to offer a pop up multi apparatus class this Tuesday night at 7pm in lieu of my normal mat class as the studio that I go to (not the one I teach at) is on a summer break this week so no classes. Cost is $30, level is beginner friendly. Reach out if interested.

Two years ago today, I was lying down on my living room floor, just breathing - doing nothing and thinking about nothing. I was letting the reality that I passed my mat test out exam two days earlier hit me, and letting the waves of relaxation roll over me. I had taken the week prior to the test out off work to work on my practical exam (sequence the exercises and practice teach it to see if I needed to change anything) and to keep studying for the written exam. Two days later, I let my mind and body relax and enjoy it. I think I laid there for a good 10 minutes, and it was bliss.

Made it into the studio today for some self practice with a class online. As a teacher, it’s super important to maintain my own personal practice, and classes like these help reinforce my curricular knowledge and integrate the exercises into my body, even when I have to modify to accommodate my current shoulder mobility limitations.

Regaining my personal practice has been so rewarding and important.
